This happened a while ago but I CANNOT stop thinking about it.

Forrest Valkai is a biologist and science communicator who makes a lot of content debunking creationism and other anti-science stuff, along with reaction content in general. He's generally very well-spoken, respectful, and polite. He's genuinely passionate about educating people about the natural world and tries his best to meet people at their level.

Donald James Parker is a "producer," "director," and """actor""" who is a diehard creationist and Evangelical. He uses his shitty movies to evangelize about his anti-science version of Christianity, to the point where he seems to advocate that not believing in evolution is just as important as believing in Jesus.

Anyway, Forrest reacted to one of Donald's shitty propaganda movies a few years ago. Donald wasn't happy about it, and eventually the two decided to have a debate about creationism and evolution. Forrest absolutely eviscerated Donald in a way that was polite but very thorough. He brought actual facts and evidence whereas Donald just kept appealing to a few Bible verses he thought supported his anti-evolution views.

Flash forward a few years and it turns out that Donald created a fanfic movie about the debate. He portrays the Forrest insert as a diehard atheist who worships science (he literally only wears a Charles Darwin t-shirt lmao) and is weird to women. The debate is shown in the movie and of course Donald portrays his own self-insert as a victim. There's literally an entire scene about how mean the atheist is for calling Donald out 😭

But that's not the best part: Donald gives his self-insert a daughter who the atheist/Forrest insert falls madly in love with. She's also a fundie Christian and ends up getting the atheist to convert to Evangelical Christianity and renounce evolution.

That's right, Donald James Parker made a movie about a real-life debate but inserted an OC daughter character who's so hot and so persuasive that she got Forrest to renounce science and embrace creationism. Did I mention that Donald's irl daughter disowned him over his beliefs years ago btw?

"It's over. I've portrayed you as the wojack who gets seduced into agreeing with me by my fictional daughter!"

This offhand remark from Forrest Valkai has been ringing in my head lately. I often wonder if Christians ever really sit and think about the kind of "God" that they love and worship. Truly, a fucked up, evil, sadistic God to even think up something like "hell." And it cracks me up when Christians INSIST that their God is all about "love" and "We're all about love!" 😂 No, you're all about fear. Your front/mask/advertising slogan may say "love," but the hidden fine print is really just about fear.

Forrest Valkai has finally updated his "Sex and Sensibility" video from three years ago

A while back, he made his first long-form essay video pointing out how biological sex has never been, and cannot be, rigidly defined by strict binary categories. But he didn't bother to differentiate between sex and gender.

That video was ~30 minutes.

Last night (21 February, 2025) he premiered an updated version, where he starts out talking about biological and chromosomal sex, but then goes on to differentiate those things from gender, and gender from gender expression, and all of that from sexuality and queer identities, and talks about how none of it can be fit into strict binaries.

The new video is ~100 minutes.

At the risk of sounding like a softie, I obviously don't agree with Judge Holden's philosophy. He claims good and evil are man-made constructs, that war and violence are the only truths in reality and that the universe is amoral and rewards violence and power. Violence is one of the only truths in reality, that is very true. But I don't believe violence and power is rewarded by the universe. To exert your own power over someone else, in the most violent and disgusting way you can, that is not rewarded by reality. Karma is a b*tch. Violence breeds violence, and if you truly believe it is your fundamental right to exert power over someone else, then you shouldn't f*cking hide it, but you do. Don't you? Because somewhere deep inside yourself, you know it's wrong but you convinced yourself that you are right. You know you are afraid, and so you hide your crimes. Or, you make yourself feared so that your own philosophy doesn't come back to bite you, and like a snake bites its own tail. After all, if power and violence is rewarded, should fear then be that reward that keeps you safe? Fear leads to anger, and that leads to hate. Feared enough, and you will meet the hangman after having convinced yourself he will never come for you. Which is why you hide everything you do, and make those you believe are weak that you may be right, so that the hangman's rope shall not sheath your neck.
