Regrets of a Wish
A thread with @foundjustice on Haru’s Betrayal!Verse where Makoto said:
Makoto didn’t want to be be upset with Haru. She was one of her closest friends and she meant a lot to the third year, but after everything she did… she couldn’t help but be hurt and upset. “I don’t know,” Her voice was quiet, the sadness leaking out into her words. “What you did… after everything we tried to do, I’m hurt, Haru. I understand your concern, but what you did could have cost me my sister.” There was a crack in her voice. “You have to understand why I’m hurting right now.”
And Haru understood why Makoto was hurting, why she couldn’t bear looking at her... In Makoto’s defense, Haru participated as much in the assasination of her father as the other Phantom Thieves, but... The fact that Makoto’s sister was going to be a target... Could she really do that?
“You know I didn’t mean to. If I had known...” Her hands were trembling, as she raised them to her hair, playing with it, focusing partially on something else. “I acted without thinking, and... I... I should’ve trusted you guys.”
Yes, she should have, but now the damage was done. Joker was dead, it was announced on television that he commited suicide... But Haru knew the truth.
“I’m scared, too... But I don’t think your sister is in danger anymore. The Phantom Thieves... are no more.”
