This is a nightmare I had back in middle school. I remember being startled awake and SWEATING like I just ran a marathon. Thinking back on it, I cant help but laugh so enjoy :)
Looking around, I'm back to where I've never wanted to be ever again. My elementary school. Standing in the middle of the hall, my objective was to use the bathroom. Already off to a terrible start. Suddenly, a sound from the PA system grabs my attention, and a woman's voice could be heard,
"Attention all students and faculty, we are now performing our mandatory fumigation. This is not a drill. Please remain in your classroom until we deem it save to leave."
My heart stood still. The bathroom was right there, and my classroom was at the very end of the hall. I could see people in yellow hazmat suits with gas masks starting to enter, and panic started to flood. I had no other option. The bathroom, like usual, had to become my temporary sanctuary.
Quickly, I ran into a stall and locked the door. I could see the smoke starting to pour in from under the stall but thankfully it had no smell. After sitting for what felt like hours, the PA system came on again,
"Attention students and faculty, you are now allowed to safely exit from your classrooms."
I let out a much-needed breath, and slowly came out from the stall. I was finally free and could return to class. But this brief peace would soon come to a startling end.
When I walked out back into the hallway, I couldn't see a thing but thick foggy clouds. Where was my classroom? Was I still in my school? Something was wrong within these gray clouds and I could feel it in my soul. I couldn't hear anyone, but I could feel a dark presence lurking behind the smoke.
I jerk my head to the right, then to the left, and again to the right. My arms swung forward in defense as if the smoke itself would drown me. I was right to defend myself from the front, until suddenly I was tackled from the side.
There he was. A shirtless Gibby from ICarly had me pinned to the ground as he screamed in my face. Blood coated him like it was his second skin. His screams left spit on my cheeks. There was no one to go as he continued to hover above me, screaming endlessly.
I woke up in a cold sweat. The nightmare was finally over. I can confidently say that this is one of my top five most vivid dreams I've ever had. In conclusion, the bathroom can be our temporary sanctuary.
