I found out yesterday there’s been a Marvel month going on over at Instagram, but found out in time for Nightcrawler day. So here’s my contribution for our favorite fuzzy elf. All the love to Nightcralwer.

There’d never been a time, not one, when Logan hadn’t felt at ease with Kurt. Never a moment when he couldn’t be who he was, all that he was, killer, weapon, leader, friend.

Kurt never shied away from it. Never shied away from him.

Logan figured it had to do with the faith the man had. Faith was a hard thing, a constant struggle, but a challenge that Kurt withstood. And, in so doing, maybe he gave pieces of it to Logan, maybe he had faith in Logan, that unerring kind of believe that at the end of it all, there was still shimmers of goodness buried in Logan’s soul.

So being with Kurt was easy. Being around him something that brought lightness into Logan’s life, that brought him joy. They didn’t agree over everything, but that was alright, it was expected.

No matter what, with Kurt Logan could be relaxed.

Except then. There. In that moment.

Seconds ago Kurt had Logan laughing, doubled over, tears pricking at the corners of eyes as he tried to pull in breath.

There was that joy. Elation. Logan grinning, the lopsided thing cutting across his face as Logan straightened again. As his palms pressed agaisnt his thighs. As he rolled his shoulders and reached for Kurt’s biceps.

Then, just like that, things weren’t easy anymore.

They were difficult, weighted, heavy. This wasn’t new, not for Logan. This was something he’d held onto for a while.

Years.

But meeting Kurt’s gaze, this close to him, the warmth of him under Logan’s touch…

“Elf,” Logan croaked, stepping forward, stepping closer, stepping all the way into the other man’s space.

“Kurt,” Logan sighed, the sound pained, as he searched Kurt’s face, as he waited, and then as he didn’t.

As slowly he nosed against Kurt, as he pressed their lips together. It was chaste, gentle, but unmistakable in its intent, in the feeling behind it. Love, just as unyielding as that faith. Just as eternal.
