Making a Game: Update 2
I started the day with actually messing around the program itself to see how everything works. I downloaded an updated version of Visual Studio to use for the coding and got to work on another game about squirrels for a proof of concept.
Once I figured out how to add the images and labels I went to work on creating a short story with two endings. It was a little tricky to figure out how to build it at first but luckily I figured it out. I even made it available to play in Browser.
Despite it's simplicity I think I did well but I'm going to go back in my script and change some things to make it easier to translate to code.
Here's the prototype game: https://wolfstarr22.itch.io/squirrel-game
get squished
having a bit of trouble programming the crouch function in my game, but I think I'll figure it out eventually
I HAVE BEEN AT THIS ALL DAY AND SEARCHING ON GOOGLE HAS HELD NO RESULTS AND I AM AT MY FINAL STRAW SO. I am resulting to asking on here and adding every tag known to man hoping it finds someone that knows. Anyone out here know of any decent free browser based game developing software. I don’t care about complexity anything that’s available I’m willing to learn bc I think browser based options are the only thing I can work with. Help a guy out please and thank you
CandyGore
Milk and cookies just for you!
CandyGore is an upcoming Horror RPG game which sticks out for its pastel colour palette a sickeningly cute aesthetic. It revolves around Chip, a teenager who just started working for Miss Cotton’s Cake Shop, a successful cake shop led by Miss Cady Cotton, a local TV star. However, after several incidents on her cooking show, Miss Cotton decided to retire and open a shop. But as Chip starts digging deeper into the bussiness, odd things start to come up...
Hey!!!
So I’m making a visual novel, and it’s called fallen down! It’s an Undertale fangame.
What is it about?
Toriel finds you in the ruins and saves you from Flowey. As usual, she takes you home and you bake with her and get a good night's rest.
When and where will it be available?
The game will be available on May 1st. You can find it on Itch.io at Moth-Of-Stars
How much will it be?
Fallen down will be a 15-20 minute pixel art visual novel that is completely free!!
After graduating from high school, most of us face so many possibilities we can't even really comprehend them all.
There is so much to discover. So many paths you could take. So many versions of yourself.
You could go to med school. Take a gap year as an au pair. Start working freelance. Commit to writing and enter competitions. Get a degree in computer science. Intern at a large financial company. Volunteer for a political cause. Start your own online shop. Move to another country to learn a new language. Go to a small liberal arts college. Start a traineeship. Online university. Independent research.
This lead us (me and Rona aka @findx) to think about ways that we can display this struggle many of us face. Illustrate the incredible amount of opportunities and possibilities, without seeming overwhelming. Show up alternatives, get you to think of options you may never have considered before, or just dream.
Escaping the paralysis of too many choices.
That's why we decided to call LIFEBLR – well, into life. With a text-based approach, we want to include as many ideas, perspectives, and paths as possible. To let the player experience both the well-traveled road – and the path less taken.
To accomplish this, we need your support. Contribute either with:
Writing
