GA Reflection
To be completely honest I had no idea that just like movies and music, writing also has different types of Genres. The prompt for the assignment was the first way thing that taught me. “Genres are categories that influence the format in which information is presented”. Just as we grow and adapt to different things the genres also evolve and change through time because of the way our communication changes. There are three types of genres: Typographic, Oral, and Iconographic. Based off the prompt and explanation of the assignment I did not think I would full understand. After going forth in the semester each assignment was feeding off the last and this helped me grasp a better understanding. I did miss a part of the assignment which was not elaborating on logos. The use of my supporting evidence should have also been more clear but looking back at the assignment I know how I could have mad it better. I learned through this that an academic paper should have all supporting evidence you can use to answer questions that might arise in your audience and to persuade them as well. Moving forward I will be sure to use all literary devices Logos, Ethos, and Pathos to make for a stronger paper. I feel that based on the rubric I was graded fairly and I was truly missing certain things here and there. I do have to say overall without the readings and rough draft I would have probably got a bad grade but thanks to that help I got a good grade after all.
Supporting evidence is everything, and in the Genre Analysis the information that was provided should have been presented correctly.
