Almost entirely confined to one or two sets; it should be stagey and claustrophobic but credit where it's due#The sets are actually very impressive for a cheapo brit horror. Also working in the films favour is an intriguing dual timeline which#Examines both an horrific event on a deserted island and its aftermath. A strong cast peppered with brit character actors on leave from#Regular TV work (Valentine just finished Callan; Palk between series on The Main Chance; Fowlds on a brief sojourn from being Basil Brush's#Whipping boy). There's sex and violence and it unmistakably belongs to the post golden age of brit horror when everything had got a little#Seedy but it somehow still manages to capture some of the magic and the mood of the prime Hammer years
