Please don't mind me reposting some old sketches of Gear 5~ Going through the files~~~~ Sketches I gotta post~
Blast off!!!
I LOVE how you write Luffy so much so I come bearing a request a little different than normal Luffy fics 🤔 I’m a huge sucker for when he goes apeshit in Gear 5, looking menacing as hell while still smiling. Do you think you could do a Luffy x reader where reader is taken captive by some enemy as bait for Luffy but they don’t realize how powerful he really is? I need to see him crash out and then be soft and happy again when he gets the reader back like a 180
(≧▽≦) I love this prompt!!! Sorry if this is a little late, I saw this right before going out to dinner and forgot all of the ideas that went off in my brain, but I will give it my all.

Monkey D. Luffy x Straw Hat! Reader kidnapping, held for ransom, gear five luffy, smug reader, fluff, no hurt, overpowered luffy, protective luffy, powerful reader
To say you were smug was an understatement. Somehow another bandit crew got the drop on you and managed to capture you and get you into their base. Their plan was to hold you for ransom, demanding that the Straw hats pay up, or they'd turn you over to the Marines and get their money from them.
To say that Luffy had said no was an understatement. He'd answered with a cheery, "No." before hanging up. The bandits stared at the Den Den Mushi blankly before turning to you with dangerous grins. They were trying to be intimidating, but you could tell that they weren't expecting your Captain to answer like that. They were expecting anger and threats, not... whatever that was.
They were also expecting you to be more distressed, not calm. Not smiling like a maniac. They left you alone for now, locked in a cell under their base, wrapped in chains and rope. Anything they could think of to keep you contained. They weren't complete idiots. You were a Straw hat Pirate. You weren't weak at all. Whether you had a devil fruit or not.
For now, you were waiting. You knew Luffy was on his way, so all you had to do was sit back and wait. Ever since the split up at Sabaody, Luffy had gotten more... protective possessive of the crew, but most especially you. Luffy knew that you could defend yourself, and that you could fight your own battles, but when it came to things like this, when his crew was being threatened? Luffy took that personally.
You had actually counted the seconds between the Den Den call and when Luffy showed up. The distant rumble and shouts of bandits told you he'd arrived. You could feel your cheeks burn from the borderline crazy smile that must have taken over your face. Luffy's haki rippled through the air, curling around you possessively, while turning suffocating for everyone else. The sound of destruction and screaming got closer and closer.
You tipped your head back against the stone wall of your cell, and between one breath and the next, the chains that bound you were shattering, and the rope was snapping. You sighed, like it was a chore for you to free yourself. "I guess it's time to go." The amusement in your tone was palpable as you walked to the door and kicked down the door to the cell.
The hinges screeched as they freed themselves from the wall before giving, and the metal door slammed to the floor with a clang. The walls shuddered, and the floor turned rubbery, giving each of your steps a playful bounce. Luffy's mad laughter could be heard as he fought the bandits with ease.
You exited the basement in time to watch Luffy obliterate their leader. Sending the bandit crashing through several walls. His red eyes gleamed with rage, even as his giggles slipped from hysterical to victorious. He turned his attention to you, and immediately, you could see how his whole body language changed. His smile softened into one of glee as you bounced over to you. "Hey Luffy, took you long enough." You leaned against the doorway with a laugh before running towards him, stepping over the prone forms of the defeated bandits with ease.
"Treasure!" His voice echoed, and he crashed into you, white hair and the ring of clouds floating. His red eyes met yours, and he pressed a messy kiss to your forehead. You laughed and pushed his face away before wiping away the kiss. "Gross, Luff." The captain seemed to hover around you, looking for any sign that you were harmed in any way.
You sighed and rolled your eyes, but let him do it. "They didn't hurt you, right? Because if they hurt you..." His expression grew dangerous, a threatening glint appearing in his eyes as he stared at the hole in the wall where he'd thrown the bandit leader. You could only sigh before wrapping your arms around Luffy in an effort to calm him down. You didn't want him to level the island just to make a point. "No, Luffy. They didn't hurt me, I'm fine."
He huffed in frustration but nodded concedingly. "Fineee..." You smiled and kissed his cheek before pinching it and stretching his face. "Ow!" "That doesn't hurt you, you big baby." You laughed and let his face go. "So, do you think Sanji will make me extra snacks since I was just kidnapped?" You could see the stars in his eyes and his mouth start to water at the prospect of food.
"Hmm... I guess I should share with my captain who came to my rescue..." You hummed, pretending to contemplate sharing your food with Luffy. He whined and draped himself over you. "Pleaseeeee? I'm so hungryyyy."
"Fine, but you better not eat it all."
"Thank you, Treasure!"
"Of course, My Captain."
