and you’ve chosen to follow it professionally.
Today, as usual, you’re at your studio.
You’ve been sitting for hours.
The sound of pencils scratching,
the faint smell of graphite,
and the cool breeze from the rainy season window brushing against your skin —
it all feels both cool and warm.
But that’s not what’s bothering you.
It’s the thing you’ve been staring at all this time —
the intricate skull in front of you,
so detailed your eyes can barely make out its form.
The endless lines and shadows make your head heavy;
your eyelids keep threatening to close.
You keep drawing patiently, line after line.
“That skeleton kinda looks like Senku” you think.
With that wide mouth stretching to the jaw,
those big hollow eyes...
you imagine a glowing red eye and that familiar smirk.
It makes you giggle softly more than once —
but the more you think about it,
the harder it is to focus.
Oh no... you kinda miss him.
You stare at the skull — your pencil frozen mid-line.
“...Stupid…” you mutter, erasing a smudge that isn’t even there.
Why is he stuck in your head?
Why do you keep drawing that grin like it belongs on bones?
You sigh and lean back.
The studio is quiet now.
Too quiet.
“Ugh... I just want to hear him say ‘ten billion percent’ one more time...”
You cover your face with your sketchbook.
“Get excited about work, Kid!”
...Wait. Something’s strange.
Did you miss him so much that you imagined his voice?
You lower the sketchbook—
and nearly jump.
“Senku-chan!? What are you doing here!?”
Your voice comes out a mix of surprise and bright joy.
