thinking about when rafe picks you up from a girls brunch, and you're nothing but a flirty horny mess.

he made sure he drove out the rang rover, so all your friends fit comfortably in the back. when he arrives at the brunch, he can tell immediately tell you're already drunk, having one too many martinis.

"hiiiiiii rafeeeyy babbyy" you drag out with a blissful smile on your face and a high pitched voice. "hi sweetheart, you had fun?" he asks, as he approaches you. "the best time" you say. he reaches down to your legs, sweeping you up off your feet bridal style, you squeal at the sudden movement. he says a quick hello to your friends, opening the back seat door for them, before placing you in the passenger seat.

your smile doesn't falter, as you watch him, reach over you buckling your seatbelt. his neck is exposed to you, the smell of his woody cologne hitting your nose, and you lean forward taking a sniff. "ugh you smell so good i could eat you right here" you say placing kisses on his neck.

he let's out an amused laugh, followed by a soft smirk. "how many drinks did you have?" he asks, eyes locked on yours. your eyes can't help but fall to his lips. just how soft and pink they look. and so irresistibly kissable. you shrugged, "we got many many many pitchers of martinis and margs," you start, "you know i'm a slutty slut for passionfruit martini's" you finish, and his smirk deepens at your choice of words. he leans in close to your ear, "you're not a slut for your boyfriend huh?" he whispers knowing what that'd do to you in this state.

you pout, leaning in and kissing his lips, "oh always a slut for you" you respond with a sultry smile, voice dropping to that low seductive voice you know he gets head over heels for. forgetting your friends are behind you, and can kinda hear this entire exchange. "UGH!" one says, "GET A ROOM!" your best friend says, "you know we can take uber if you're get freaky right now" your other friend says, and you can't help but laugh. "drammaa mamas" you wave them off, with a playful eye roll.

rafe places another peck on your lips before he closes the door, and get's into the drivers side. your phone immediately comes to life when the car turns on, and you instantly start playing Stateside by PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson.

the entire drive is filled with you and your friends, screaming lyrics at the top of your lungs, "YOU CAN BE MY MERICAN, HOT HOT BOOOYY!!!" you obniouxously sing, with a wink, while you randomly touch rafe everywhere. the mix of alocohol and the andrenaline of having fun making you feel so much hornier than you thought you could be.

and it doesn't help that your boyfriend is an absolute smoke show. or how those beautiful blue eyes, always seem to make you feel like the most beautiful woman on the planet. how his plump lips can always ground you with a kiss or how his large hands can caress you into safety.

"what are you staring at?" he asks you, your friends oblivious due to the volume the music is at. "you're so fucking hot" you tell him. "am i?" he smirks at you, the skin around his eyes crinkling from his now formed blush. "mhm" you respond, eyes darkening with need.

"wait til we get home. i'll show you how hot i really am" he says, and you lick your lips. "i don't know if i can wait till we get home" you smirk back at him.

and oh has he met his match.

He doesn’t say it, but the moment Dex walks in you know he’s hurt.

He gives you a limp smile before shuffling to the bathroom not more than thirty seconds after he comes into the apartment, and you watch his retreating figure before you stand up.

“Babe?” You call after him, brows pinched. You glance down at the wooden flooring, your heart rate picking up as you spy speckled dots of red trailing behind him. “Dex?”

He closes the bathroom door and you run up to it, banging your fists. “Baby let me in, are you okay?”

You press your ear to the door, and hear the faint sound of shuffling and you grit your teeth. Knowing it’s locked, you yank at the door knob anyway.

“Dex,” you call, trying to keep the panic out of your voice. “I know you’re bleeding. Please let me see. Please.”

There's a brief silence before the door clicks open, just enough for you to slip inside. Dex is leaning against the sink, face pale but still managing that stupidly charming half-smirk.

“M’fine. Just got a little too into practice.”

He nods toward his thigh, where blood seeps through a makeshift bandage, probably torn from his own shirt, before he winces and finally exhales hard.

“Okay. Maybe more than 'a little.' But hey, accuracy’s still on point.”

“Benjamin. Poindexter,” you hiss, your jaw tight. “Sit the hell down, now.”

He sighs, staggering to the edge of the tub and sitting with a heavy sigh. You rummage under the sink, grabbing the hefty first aid kit and popping it open. Fishing around inside, you grab the scissors, antiseptic and gauze before standing in front of him.

“Strip.” You demand, nodding at dirty clothes before turning on the bath.

Dex rolls his eyes but starts shrugging out of his shirt, wincing and gritting his teeth as the fabric sticks to the wound.

His chest is marked with a series of bruises he's acquired during training, but he doesn't seem to mind the pain. It's his own fault, anyway. He pushes off the rest of his clothes and sits back down, eyeing you with a lopsided grin even in this position.

“Stop it,” you snap, avoiding looking below his waist. “In the water.”

He slides below the lip of the tub without argument, settling in the water and you both watch as the bubbles become brown and pink. You shove down the worry, deciding to focus on the task at hand. Dropping to your knees, you lean over the edge and wash him mechanically, your hands moving with purpose. Dex watches you in silence, and when you finish and hand him a towel, he wordlessly takes it.

You dry him off with rough, purposeful movements, barely glancing at his body as you wrap the towel around his waist. The silence stretches—tense, charged—until Dex finally catches your wrist as you turn away.

His grip is firm but careful. When you look back, his smirk is gone.

“...Sorry.”

It’s quiet. Sincere. And for some reason that almost pisses you off more than the blood on your floor.

“Are you?” You snap, wiping your hands off. “Because you don’t seem it. You never seem it.” He says your name but you ignore him, stalking to your bedroom for a change of clothes. When you come back you shove them at his chest. “You get hurt, and then you hide them from me, and expect me to just- just not care. Is that what you want? For me to not care?”

“Of course not.” His face falls and he shrugs the shirt over his head.

“Then why not just tell me!” You snap and you feel the tears pricking at your eyes. “I don’t ask you to tell me what you do, because that’s your business, but this? The hurt? You should tell me.”

A myriad of different emotions flicker across his face. Embarrassment. Guilt. Anger.

He exhales hard and runs his uninjured hand through his hair, jaw clenching. When he speaks, however, there's a hint of irritation in his voice.

“You act like I want to get hurt. Like I enjoy coming home looking like this,” he motions to a darkening bruise at his ribcage. “I’m fine. I can take care of myself. You don't need to baby me.”

You frown, picking up the gauze and glaring at it before your eyes move to his then. “Fine. You want to take care of yourself? Then do it.”

You drop the gauze, and stalk from the bathroom, leaving Dex in a pile of bloody clothes and first aid supplies, staring after you. He doesn't follow you. Not that you expected anything different. Even if he wanted to, his stupid injury made it difficult to move quickly. You huff as you settle on the couch, hoping that he’s able to bandage the wounds enough on his own.

He doesn’t go to bed when you do. You flick of the light, tugging the covers up to your chin and flipping to your side. You’re so irritated with him that your heartbeat is pounding in your ears, but you know under the angry layer, there’s something worse; worry.

You don’t hear him come into the bedroom, only registering his presence when he slips under the covers beside you, his hand resting on your hip.

“I’m sorry.” he says into the dark, and you close your eyes because you hate crying, hate being weak, but Dex seems to bring that side out of you.

“It’s fine.” You keep your tone quiet, clipped, but then his hand is snaking around your middle, pulling you back into his chest.

“I know you worry ‘cuz you care,” he says into your hair. “I’m not…used to that.”

You stay quiet, blinking in the door and below the covers, his thumb traces soothing lines on the cotton over your stomach.

“You worry me,” you admit quietly. “What if one day you come back really hurt. Like, a hurt I can’t fix?”

The motion of his hand against your skin stills, and you hear him inhale, his grip on you tightening. After a few moments, he speaks, voice so soft you wouldn't have heard it if he wasn't right next to you.

“If I ever ended up seriously injured, the fact it'd worry you-“ He stops and sighs, his hand resuming its gentle motions. “But you shouldn't let it worry you. I've been doing this since I was eighteen. I know what I'm doing.”

“I am going to worry, okay? That’s just- part of it.” You sigh, and you turn so that you’re facing him, your nose brushing his he’s laying so close. “If you’re with me, I’m going to worry about you. Point blank period.”

His lips twitch, and you can register amusement flickering in his eyes in the dark.

“Guess I'll have to live with that then.” he murmurs, brushing his thumb along your jaw before leaning in to press a slow kiss against your forehead. A rare, quiet surrender.

When he pulls back his nose brushes yours, and you exhale before leaning forward and kissing him on the mouth. His lips mold to yours, his hand soft on your face as you taste him.

“Just be careful, okay?” You ask when you pull back, your cheeks warm.

He nods, kissing you again quickly before he pulls back. “Alright.”

“Promise?”

When he doesn’t answer immediately, you flick his arm. He smiles, a slow, spreading action. “I promise.”

it’s been a few hours since he arrived. both of you are now just in your room he’s deeply focused and has probably memorized the entire course by now while you’re still trying to understand the basic concepts of physics. you’ve definitely been locked in and not staring at ur ceiling for the past 10 minutes after taking a vape break before the nicotine suddenly hits you and you need to go to the toilet

it’s been like a good 10 minutes in the toilet and when you’re finally done you toss your hand towel into the basket and look into your cabinet for another. just as you’re ruffling through a drawer which consists of skincare, toiletries, half burnt vapes and some junk. you kept taking things out and either rearranging them or tossing it straight into the bin until you find a pack of fun flavored lip balms: a cola, two fantas, a sprite, and a jolly rancher. a pack you bought as a joke a few months back but there’s a reason for you to actually use it now. and that reason’s on your bed, head buried into his laptop with his only care being the exam next week

you get out of the toilet and peek at him playfully hoping to lighten the mood

“megumiiii”

“where’s your mac charger”

is the only reply he shoots back to which you roll your eyes at

“nerd, take a break”

“don’t think the exam waits on you”

“gumi you’ll be fine i promise”

you say as you switch places with his mac that was previously on his lap. you slide a teasing finger under his chin tilting his face up to face yours.

“let’s play a game”

he raises an eyebrow at that familiar teasing tone

“not falling for your shit again y/n”

that makes you giggle abit

“no it’s harmless i promise”

“…okay”

the uncertainty in his voice made it even cuter. you bring your face to his until you bridge the tiny gap with your lips. it’s soft and gentle before you purposely start nibbling at his lips hoping he’ll mimic the gesture on you. it worked. just as he pulls you closer, you pull away.

“guess.”

“wha-“

“guess what flavor i have on”

“seriously?”

“mhm”

he tried to steal your focus with the attempt of asking for another kiss but you saw right through him. oh megumi when will you learn.

“just one more cmon”

“fine. sprite.”

you shook your head and in a teasing tone “mm-mm”

he wasted no time immediately sealing your lips together and really savoring the taste and waxy coating on your soft plush lips.

it’s been a good 5 minutes he’s flipped you over so you’re no longer straddling him while you sit on his lap. now he’s got you straight under him on your bed while he’s got his fingers tangled in your hair. there definitely isn’t any flavour left on your lips of which he hasn’t licked away. both of you have completely lost the objective until you snapped out of it. you placed your hands on both sides of his face and lightly created distance.

“it’s sprite”

“it really isn’t”

he cups your face with one hand forcing you to look at him because your gaze drifted from your giggles as he insisted he was right

you look up into his green eyes, his gaze never leaving your lips. his words sharp but there’s no real bite to it. you placed your palms back on his face and pull him back down to restrain your growing smile with his lips while rub the nape of his neck before releasing yourselves. you give him a sweet and knowing smile

before he can finish you were quick to flip both of you over and kiss him before he gets upset. whoops sorry megs!!
