This was my first year celebrating Kwanzaa. This cultural celebration helped solidify things that I have been learning in the past year or so, specifically regarding my love for blackness; therefore love for myself. With each principle, I thought about how it was shown in my life, and how I try to show it to others. On the day of Nia or Purpose, I was blessed to attend an LGBTQ Kwanzaa celebration. At this event, I was met with a space filled with love and more importantly, black self-love. I met some awesome people. It reminded of my purpose, to help bring others in to a space within themselves that is full of LOVE; unfiltered, unadulterated, unchanging, UNAPOLOGETIC love. ✊🏿💙. Joyous Kwanzaa ❤️⚫️💚
