Headcannon In Any AU I’ve Made: Rucas Living In Paris Together.
“peut-être qu'un jour, toi et moi irons à paris ensemble” (rough translation: maybe someday you and i will go to Paris together). said by lucas friar in gm maya’s mother.
Basically in AU I’ve made, it ends with Rucas leaving New York to move to Paris (in their late 20’s). Lucas becomes a veterinarian and opens a clinic, while Riley becomes a writer/ journalist. Started as a couple’s vacation, the two fall in love with the City of Lights and decide to take the risk. Both immerse themselves in Parisian culture, with Lucas teaching Riley french (since he’s fluent in the language, much to Riley’s surprise) They live in a small apartment, above a cafe/ bakery where they usual eat for breakfast. Although a rough adjust at first, the two live happily together- with their family and friends visiting at times. They stay a couple until...Riley pops the question on Pont des Arts bridge, in which Lucas says yes!
Hi! do you read gmw aus? if so, pls recommend some, I really miss the show and this account is one of things keeping it alive for me :((
yes!!! i read as many as i can possibly get my little hands on!!!
‘my soul and yours are the same’ - A string of soulmate aus, in which, in every universe, Lucas Friar and Farkle Minkus are destined to be together. (a series by yours truly, the latest of which is not abandoned i promise, mostly lucas/farkle-centric but with more than a few background relationships.)
anything written by tumblr user friarlucas, but specifically her mad dogs au and her quincy willows au. (those two fics specifically are mostly riley/lucas and quincy willows has farkle/zay, and most of her fics are riley/lucas, but she writes a little bit of everything.)
‘kaleidoscope’ - She meets her when she's five, is in love with her by the time she's thirteen and tells her when she's seventeen. Or: Maya's always been too afraid to tell her best friend that she's in love with her and that they're kind of soulmates. (riley/maya with a hint of lucas/farkle.)
‘tell my love to wreck it all’ - When Riley is the only person matching the description, centered perfectly in the crosshairs of her rifle, Maya starts to sob. or: riley's a werewolf. maya's a hunter. you can do the math. (riley/maya angst but it’s really good with a happy ending!!!)
‘my heart is gold and my hands are cold’ - He gives his heart to the tin man anyway, asking nothing in return. (lucas/farkle theater au)
‘where you are, i will be’ - “and i’d choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality, i’d find you and i’d choose you.” (a maya/riley reincarnation au that’s so good omg)
‘What the Hell Were We? (Tell Me We Weren't Just Friends)‘ - With Riley and Maya isolating themselves from the group, the last thing he needed was to freak out the one person he had left. The idea hadn’t crossed his mind that maybe Farkle was worried about the same thing. (farkle/lucas with background rilaya that’s so nice. more of a future fic than an au.)
‘I Won’t Just Buy You a Rose’ - When Riley Matthews shows up in his flower shop, hoping for an arrangement that will impress her parents, Farkle doesn't know how attached he'll grow to her. (a riley/farkle flowershop au for the ultimate dose of cuteness for your soul!!!)
hope that helped anon! i tried to give some variety so that something might strike your fancy, but a lot of fics are straight up riley/maya or lucas/farkle. if you want something else (a rarepair or just something that’s not out there), feel free to send it to my personal account @farklelucas and i’ll write you a little something for almost any pairing!!!
had a sudden & overwhelming urge to make an edit of maya hart/hunter. best friend to riley matthews, occasional girlfriend to zay babineaux, & ultimate badass.
Prompt: I was requested to write a oneshot based on a cute comic that I’ll link at the bottom. I thought it was super cute and funny and obviously reminded me of rucas so here it is. Enjoy xoxox

The early morning sun was already well risen by the time Riley and Lucas pulled into the parking lot of a Starbucks, leaving the ground smoldered in a disoriented haze. Even the birds stood silent as if it was too hot to move, the first heat wave of the summer showing no mercy to it's New York inhabitants.
Much to Lucas' dismay the AC in his car had finally bit the dust, leaving the two newly graduated seniors to sweat in the unforgiving heat. The plan was to spend the summer before their freshman year of college going on adventures together. First on their list was a road trip to Niagara Falls but now that the air conditioner was a no go, Lucas was starting to have his doubts.
"Maybe it's a sign." He frowns, feeling the hot air being released from the vents. Riley smiles at him, reaching her hand out to see for herself. She didn’t think it was possible but it seemed the air blowing into their faces was hotter than the actual outside air.
"Why don't we just drive with the windows down? Once we pick up speed it shouldn't be that bad." She tried to remain as optimistic as possible. She had been looking forward to this road trip since Lucas mentioned it last summer and she hated the thought of having to call it off just because of a little hot air. Okay, a lot of hot air. But still, she wasn't ready to give up just yet.
With ankles crossed and knees leaning against the center console, she watches Lucas slide out of the driver’s seat, turning the engine off in the process. "If you're sure you're okay with that." Riley hears him say once she's out of the car. Lucas pops the hood and begins fiddling with the wires.
"Maybe check if there's some Freon in the trunk?" She suggests, yanking her hand away from the burning hot surface of the windshield. "I think I saw some last time we broke down."
She could already see the sweat starting to trickle down her boyfriend's face as the relentless sun beamed down on them. "While you do that I'm going to go inside and get us some drinks for the road."
Lucas mumbles something for her acknowledgement but doesn’t bother looking up, much more focused on fixing the problem in front of him.
Taking Riley's suggestion, he checks the back and sure enough there's a bottle of Freon and a gage shoved to the side that he grabs before making his way back to the front of the car. After making sure his AC settings were on high he gets under the hood again, locating his low and high pressure lines, he clamps the gage onto the low pressure line, filling it up to the appropriate amount.
It takes him a few minutes to get everything situated but once he feels that cool air blowing out he can't help the smile that crosses his face. Eager to tell (and thank) Riley, he heads into the Starbucks, wiping the sweat off his forehead before stepping over the threshold.
The cold air hits him first, quickly followed by the strong scent of espresso and brewed coffee. To his surprise it's not as busy as he expected it to be. He immediately spots Riley standing by the pick-up counter, patiently waiting for their drinks.
A small smile falls on her lips once she sees him, waving him over to join her. Once he's at her side, Lucas kisses her temple, rubbing his hand along her now freezing cold arm. "The Freon worked perfectly." He smiles, "Good thinking."
"See! It wasn't a sign after all." She chuckles, "A little optimism goes a long way."
The blonde boy smiles. It never failed to amaze him how infectious her positive attitude was. "I'll remember that."
Just as he's about to drape his arm over her shoulder, their order is called out. Riley approaches and the tall, dark haired boy behind the counter, sporting a name tag that says 'Taylor' leans over, a smug smirk present on his lips.
"It was nice seeing you again." He gives her a wink before turning back to his work.
The comment, and gesture, doesn't go unnoticed by Lucas although Riley seems completely unbothered by it. She hands him his iced coffee, sipping on her iced tea as they head over to the bar for him to add cream and sugar.
"What was that about?" He furrows his brow, glancing over his shoulder at the barista who was still blatantly checking her out. "Do you know him?"
"Not really." She shrugs. "I'm just a regular here."
Lucas narrows his eyes.
"What?" It was her turn to furrow her brows now. "This Starbucks is closest to the library."
Lucas doesn’t say anything. He knew it was stupid to be insecure. He'd been working on his jealousy for a while now, never quite knowing why he let other guys get under his skin so easily. Maybe it was because he knew how friendly Riley was and he hated the idea of someone trying to take advantage of that, or maybe there was a deeper underlying issue with his own insecurities about not being good enough, or even just 'enough' for Riley. Whatever it was, he hated it.
He knew he had no reason not to trust Riley but that didn’t stop the knot in his stomach whenever guys hit on her in front of him.
As he picks up his cup to give it a swirl he notices there's more than just Riley's name written on it. Underneath there's a small message written in black sharpie.
Call me sometime 718-859-8163 ~ Taylor.
Riley, completely oblivious, frowns when she sees the deadpan expression on Lucas' face. "What's wrong? Is it the wrong drink?"
Lucas shakes his head. "No, it's definitely the right drink."
A confused expression colors her face as she follows him out of the coffee shop and back into the car. It isn't until they're half way up the highway that she notices the message on his cup.
"Is that what you're mad about?" She knits her brows together, motioning to the cup holder.
"Riley, I'm not mad." He sighs, gazing straight ahead, only half-aware of the world outside the comfort of the car.
"I didn't tell him to give me his number." She adds, using the condensation on the cup to rub off the marker.
"I know." He nods, giving her a quick glance before turning his eyes back to the road.
There's a beat of silence before she speaks up again. "Then why are you mad?"
"Riley." He forces a smile, trying to hide the fact that he was bothered by it. "I just said I wasn't mad."
"Okay okay. I'm sorry. You're not mad." She puts her hands out in defense, drumming her fingers along her bare knees. "You're jealous." She corrects, a hint of humor in her voice.
Lucas scoffs, eyebrows furrowing as he snaps his head in her direction. He can see that she's smiling but he also knows there's truth to what she's saying.
So obviously, he denies it.
"What?" He sucks his teeth. "Me? Jealous?"
"Mhmm." Riley raises her eyebrows, smirking as she stares out the window.
"Pa-lease." Lucas snorts, using one hand to rub at the back of his neck while the other steers the car. "I have no reason to be jealous of Taylor The Latte Boy."
"Someone's feeling catty." She chuckles to which Lucas shoots her a look in response.
"Catty? Who's feeling catty? I'm not feeling catty." He rambles, cringing at how ridiculous he must sound. He knows he should stop but he can't help himself. Word vomit. "Cattiness would imply that I'm threatened and I am not threatened."
"Not true." She shakes her head, laughing when he completely ignores her comment.
"Besides, I don't get jealous." He remarks.
"Also not true."
Lucas huffs and even though they both know this is meant to be lighthearted banter she can tell she's hitting a nerve.
"I'm sorry, I forgot. You're a secure western hero." She says playfully, giving him the side eye.
Lucas chuckles in spite of himself. "Exactly."
After a few minutes of silently observing her movements in the mirror, a sigh escapes his lips. "I'm sorry."
"You don't have to apologize." Riley smiles, reaching out to give his hand a squeeze. "I know you mean well."
He looks at her and smiles and as he glances back towards the road he can see that they're getting low on gas. "Crap." He mumbles under his breath. "The AC is sucking up all the gas."
Riley puts her window down, relishing in the roaring winds that twirl in her long brown hair and whistle in her ears. Lucas does the same, noticing the road was an endless river of tarmac baked under the brutal sun. It stretched into the horizon in front and behind as far as the eye can see.
"We need to find the closest gas station." He switches into the next lane, assuming there's bound to be an exit eventually. "Can you turn on the GPS."
"Sure." Riley reaches out, hitting a few random buttons before getting the right destination on the screen.
Lucas raises an eyebrow when an unfamiliar sound comes through the speaker. It isn't the usual GPS voice he's used to. This one is a lot more masculine, with a thick Australian accent.
'In three hundred feet take exit nine.'
"Did you change my GPS to the male voice?" He glances at her, expecting her to deny it.
"Yeah. I like it better this way." She smiles, shrugging her shoulders.
When Lucas doesn’t say anything she looks in his direction, unable to keep herself from laughing when she sees the look on his face.
"...are you getting jealous of a fake disembodied voice?"
Lucas' initial reaction is to scoff. "No.." Riley gives him a look. "I don’t know, sort of!"
Riley's laugh fills the car, lightening the mood which in return causes him to not take his self too seriously. "You're adorable."
"I'm tired." He challenges, giving her a smirk as he pulls off the exit and into the nearest gas station.
"I'll drive next." She kisses him on the cheek before they both step out of the car. "I'll get gas you get snacks." She heads to the pump before turning around and calling out to him. "Gummy bears!"
"The red ones." He calls back, giving her a wink before heading inside.
Scanning the aisles, the selection is proving to be less than satisfactory. They don't have any red gummy bears, or any gummy bears at all, but they do have gummy worms which will just have to do for now.
Lucas tosses them into his basket, along with a few chocolate bars, a couple bags of chips and a variety of different bottled drinks.
He patiently stands in line behind a man buying multiple lottery tickets, enjoying the AC while he waits. Once the older gentleman is out of the way he carefully plops his basket onto the counter, flashing a polite smile at the young blonde woman behind it.
She looked to be about his age, maybe a year or two older, but the smile on her face said she was interested in a lot more than just checking out his purchases. Not that Lucas noticed.
"Sustenance?" She raises an eyebrow at him, biting her lip as she blatantly checks him out.
Lucas doesn’t bat an eye, nodding his head enthusiastically. "Yeah. Road trip."
"Where to?"
"Niagara Falls." Lucas answers and as he hands over the money, Riley walks through the door.
The attendant doesn’t seem to notice her, or even care that there's other customers. "Looking for some company?"
The question strikes Lucas as odd and that’s mainly because he'd been faking interest in their conversation just to be polite. "Uh, no." He laughs awkwardly. "My girlfriend is company enough."
The girl doesn’t back down, fluttering her eyelashes as she hands him his change."Well have fun...I hear it can get pretty wet."
Riley scrunches her face in disgust, her cheeks burning as she watches their encounter. Lucas doesn’t bother replying, muttering a simple 'take care' as he collects his bag and turns to walk out, surprised to see Riley standing there.
He smiles at her. "You ready?"
Riley nods her head slowly, allowing him to drape his arm over her shoulder as they walk out. "What the heck was that?"
Lucas frowns tossing her the keys so she could drive. "What?"
"I hear it gets wet" She saying mockingly, dramatically flipping her hair over her shoulder as she slides into the driver's seat. "That was borderline pornographic."
Lucas chuckles, pulling on his seatbelt and pushing his seat back to stretch out his legs. "Someone's jealous."
Riley scoffs, rolling her eyes as she turns the key in the ignition, adjusting the air controls. "Jealous? Of little Miss Gas Station? Please."
"Who's being catty now?" Lucas throws his head back with laughter. "Now you know how I feel."
"Ugh that was like Missy Bradford all over again." She purses her lips, pulling back onto the road. "Want some company?" She mimics the girls flirty tone under her breath, scrunching her face again. "Over my dead body."
Lucas smiles, reaching out to take her hand. "I love you." He says softly, bringing her hand up to his lips to place a small kiss before letting her return it back to the steering wheel.
Riley glances over to him, and as she looked into his perfect green eyes glistening with love for her, she knew it was silly to let something so insignificant get under her skin but she also knew that she had something others would only hope for.
And try as they might, no coffee shop barista, flirty gas station attendant or GPS system was going to come between them.
She smiles sweetly at the boy in her passenger seat, feeling her heart swell. "I love you too."
“Every fairy tale reincarnation is special, but it just makes you ordinary. Adams is like any other school in Manhattan, it really is! But what makes Adams special is the undying ambition hungry students who will do anything to fulfil their happily ever after- if they were born to be heroes or antagonists- these students would do anything to fulfill their stories. And it's your class- holy shit- they will slit your throat if you're in their way. If you wanna survive the new environment, you’ll need to know who to befriend and who to avoid. Let's get started:
When you want to escape the loud chaotic stress of this school, find solace in Zay Babineaux. He’s a musician, he can play any instrument- guitar, piano, flute, drums, violin, trumpet, even banjo- and mastered all music genres. Zay is extremely talented and self aware of who he is. Zay is one the most level headed students in the sophomore class. He just goes with the flow, wandering around the school playing his music. Hopefully not to do anything else, the pipe piper story gets a bit...interesting. But all Zay Babineaux wants is to share his voice. BEFRIEND
If the big bad wolf ever tries to eat the loved ones of Red Riding Hood. Isadora De La Cruz would gut the wolf inside and out and fill its body with stones. She is known to ‘not like other girls.” She’s scary and would kill you, she lives for that. Isadora doesn't like being a damsel in distress, she can take care of herself and wants to maintain her control over things. If she is stuck in a situation, she’ll get herself out of it. Her filipino mentality is you have to suck it up, and Miss. Isadora De La Cruz has to suck it up. Isadora works for what she wants in life, for every success she has, she earned it herself. AVOID BUT COULD BEFRIEND
For every Isadora De La Cruz, there’s a Farkle Minkus. Farkle Minkus is a wallflower. In the drama of Adams, Farkle thinks of himself as a background character in the whole story, even his own. He spends his time in the library, he has read all the books more than 3 times. There's not a lot known about Farkle, he’s very reserved and closed off- distanced. I don’t know if he has any friends to socialize with, but he is always tired. Let’s just say he’s practicing his 100 year nap. There's nothing good or bad said about Farkle, he’s just in the blurry background of it all. BEFRIEND
Who isn't a background character in their story, but is the most feared: Maya Hart. Maya Hart is Adams’ main antagonist, she always wears a silver crown on her head; reminding every student she’s queen. She has her minions by her side- the step sisters- they empathize Maya Hart’s spotlight. Where can you find a talented magic user? A cunning and sneaky Villain? Or a cold hearted queen? Well she's all 3. For a 16 year old, you would think she would be nicer to her friends or have a soul. But Maya doesn't care who gets hurt or who loses, all that matters is her throne. And if that means getting rid of competition, then she won't hesitate at all. My advice is don't ask her to help you with magic. She’s the true definition of an Adams student on steroids! AVOID LIKE HELL
And unfortunately last: Lucas Friar. He’s a special case in Adams, he’s not a fairy tale reincarnation, or a magic user; he’s just ordinary, plain and simple. His authority doesn't matter at all, he’s still just human. He’s prone to angry outbursts, getting into fights, and arguing with Maya Hart about everything. Lucas doesn't care, he seems to get out of trouble every time. But the most difficult part about Lucas is this: he’s hard to understand, sometimes he’s a decent person, sometimes he’s someone’s worst nightmare. The fact of the matter is, I wouldn't waste your time with Lucas Friar- he’ll make you view him as the villain. AVOID LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT
The world you entered in, is awful, unpredictable, and dangerous. As for your destiny, it's simple: to protect our stories and world, follow what’s written. But I must warn you, somehow, high school is way worse.
So we’re screwed?
No you're fucked. May God have mercy on your soul. Welcome to your prologue, Riley Matthews.”
If The Clique Six Were Teen Wolf Creatures | Riley as a Druid and Lucas as a Hunter:
In my Teen Wolf x GMW, Riley and Lucas are Scott McCall and Allison Argent, respectively
Riley has a lot of personality qualities like Scott- selfless, kind hearted, loyal. Druids are emissaries for a werewolf pack and aid them with medicinal necessities, knowledge of the supernatural, and substances like mountain ash, wolfsbane, and mistletoe. So for Riley to be a Druid makes sense, she’s constantly helping her friends and holds the group together. She could also be a mix of Scott and Kira Yukimura’s personality but I’ll stop there. Also her Uncle Eric is also a Druid and teaches Riley what he knows. I didn’t want to make Riley a werewolf, cause it doesn’t fit her character.
Lucas is narrative Allison Argent, he’s the new kid at school with a mysterious family life. Out of all his friends, Lucas is ordinary- he’s just human- but his family taught him how to protect himself. He was trained to be a Hunter- mastering ring daggers and archery (using a crossbow). Although his father pushes him to use his anger to be a ruthless killer (similar to how Gerard manipulate Allison into embracing her inner huntress), his mother tries to instil the idea of protecting those who can’t protect themselves. So with the help of Jack Hunter, Lucas continues his mother’s legacy.
The Ultimate Ambition Atla Au: (even abbreviates to aaa lol) aka AAA Atla:
An ambition (loosely based on girl meets world) avatar the last bender au:
Thanks to Maggie and Esther for choosing which benders the a class are, who would be the avatar, and the basic ideas they came up with!
Okay let’s get started:
Think of this AU as an Urban Fantasy Comedy Drama, in which magic coexists with the normal human world and takes place in modern times and the New York setting (unlike the atla world/ lore, but keeping the magic system of bending intact.)
In Manhattan, New York lies Abigail Adams Academy (or simply Adams)- a prestigious school for benders and non-benders alike; benders (water, earth, fire, and air) are trained to control their abilities while non-benders train in self-defense, weapons, science and technology, etc. While focusing on both magical and academic teachings, Adams is the pitstop for students who want to get involved in the political, magical, artistic, and technical aspects of the real world (basically trying to find your place in a world filled with magic). Although young and naive, the Adams’ students have an annoying sense of ambition and drive to pursue their future endeavours and are often clouded by that judgement. (“It's a clear sense of ambition to be something extraordinary, only for a dozen others to have that same drive; and do it better. It’s sad, but fun to watch!” -Lucas James Friar) If destiny is written, people have a purpose in their life. And the Avatar is proof of that statement.
The Avatar, happens once in a generation, is the master of all four bending elements (Water, Earth, Fire, and Air); and when they die, they are reincarnated into the next bender in the cycle. The Avatar is the chosen one. The in between of both magical and mundane. The Mediator of each elemental benders and non bender- to restore balance to the world and bring peace. Once the Avatar is found, they are trained by a bender in their respective element- following the order of the Avatar Cycle. The Avatar also gains the Avatar State- the ability to access their past lives for their wisdom and power. In the Avatar State, they are at their most powerful and vulnerable, if killed in the Avatar State- the cycle breaks forever. It's been 16 years since the death of the previous Avatar, and there hasn't been a sign of the next Avatar- who’s supposedly an airbender. Until Adams’ newest student, Dylan Orlando, arrives. Dylan tries to navigate the insane world of Adams and master all 4 elements, while threats start creeping in. Lucky for him, he’s not alone, he has a team to guide him through his journey. His Team Avatar (in order of photos above):
Lucas Friar: Non-Bender, Swordsmanship, Weapon Making/ Handling, Fight Combat, He’s also very good with animals (both normal and magical)
Riley Matthews: Waterbender (her mom’s side are Waterbenders, her dad’s side are Earthbenders), Healing, Bloodbending (she learned the technique to save her friends, but now she refuses to use it ever again)
Isadora ‘Smackle’ De La Cruz: Earthbender, Metalbending, (she’s the first to discover this ability)
Asher Garica: Firebender, Lighting redirection, Drawing-(Asher doesn't use his fire bending at first, because of his anxiety and fear he can't control his abilities. A way to ‘control’ it is to wear fireproof gloves and draws to calm his nerves), Minor weapons handling (thanks to Lucas)
Dylan Orlando: Airbender, Waterbending, Earthbending, Firebending, Avatar State, Agility (He’s quick on his feet and par takes in backflips and cartwheels any chance he gets). He also has an animal guide, a English sheepdog (kinda like the Appa to Aang)
Team Avatar will also include the Four Elements Crew (Techie Crew) (Dave-Earth, Nate-Fire, Jade-Non-Bender, and Jeff- Water as the AU process Nigel- Air is added cause he’s become a in law like Riley). Once it’s known that Dylan is the Avatar, 2 key Adams Administrators come to assist the gang- Head of Adams Jack Hunter and Guidance Counselor and Riley's Earthbender uncle Eric Matthews
● Jack Hunter: Non-Bender, Principal of Adams Academy, Swordsmanship, Weapons handling/ making, Fight Combat (He teaches these skills to Lucas so he can defend himself )
● Eric Matthews: Earthbender, Guidance Counselor and Assistant Principal of Adams, Riley’s uncle (he teaches his earth bending techniques to Isadora)
