do y'all not understand that being gnc can be punk and aggressive and ugly and grungy and messy

i take pride in my shitty eyeliner and skirt so old and dirty i'm surprised it hasn't fallen apart because for me, being gnc isn't just about being pretty, it's about pissing people off. for some people, it can absolutely be about being pretty, but people who aren't gnc seem to only see it as "gnc men have to dress soft and pretty or i see them as a threat and gnc women have to be pretty and masc at the same time or i see them as predatory" and that shit is annoying.

if you want to be seen as soft and pretty, that is okay.

what isn't ok is people shoving gender nonconforming people into boxes and categories that some of them don't even want

i love to think about how nice it'd be to have a boy who understands my gender non-conformity in the same way as me. who maybe wants to let me cover his face in glitter eyeshadow and squeeze him into really tight leather pants just because he knows it'll be quality time spent with me and ofc i don't want him to change himself and dress like that regularly (unless he wants to) but sometimes it's just fun to play dress up. and obviously i'd let him return the favor and put me in his clothes. I'm not really picky, as long as I've got my makeup on. plus i like the thought of wearing my boyfriend's clothes. i like the thought of having a boyfriend who likes me in his clothes.
