During John Galliano's S/S 1986 Collection finale, he went backstage to the models with a bucket of tepid water, allegedly asking, "May I?" before crowning the models' heads with the bucket. Water consummated the union between the delicate nature of the sheer muslin of the empire-line dresses and the female form.
