Once upon a time I was filled with absolute dread. I was utterly hopeless, barely existing, and wondering why I existed at all. I was in a bad relationship, in fact, I had a string of bad relationships that seemed to be as endless, as one of those scarves a clown pulls out of his pocket. I was empty, trying to fill the void with anything and everything that I could. Unfortunately, the only thing that could fill the void, was the last thing I thought of reaching for. When I finally did turn to God, He wasn’t mad at me, disappointed that it took me so long to come to Him, and He didn’t turn me away. He took me into His loving arms, healed every part of me and sent me out to help others. Today, I am filled with so much faith, love, and compassion that it is actually flowing from my being. When my cup is full, I can offer that love and compassion to others. I can listen. I can share my experience, strength, and hope, and I can be of service to others. Today I am grateful that my cup is full, in fact it is overflowing.
