Worked with a lady today who has a non binary child, I know this because she kept saying "he- they, are so excited..." and catching herself on pronouns, love to see it. Love to see it. Hope the kid knows how much their mom loves and supports them that she actively corrects herself around people who will never in a million years meet the kid. Proud of you mom👍

My grandma defended her trans great grandson to a cousin and got 16 pages double sided of crazy in the mail for her troubles. Was basically summed up as all faith (incl other versions of christianity) than what her cousin likes are cults and loving people and thinking believing in jesus enough is satanism.

(My gma has always been and still is a christian. My pagan ass got a good laugh out of her made up pagan mythology tho)

"Ally" is something marginalized ppl begin to recognize you as, over time, based on your actions. You behavior will let people in need of help know that you're one of the "safe" ones, who are lending a hand to the fight. Aka, an ally

Suki runs a woman's kickboxing gym

Writing prompt ATLA #1

Suki is an instructor at a women’s gym, she runs a beginners self defence class once a week and Sokka comes to help acting as the “aggressor” and happily gets beat up by Suki and a bunch of girls every week.

Maybe the background for his willingness to help could come from Katara being attacked (something more mild, but still scary) on her way home from campus and signing up for Suki's class. Maybe that’s how Sokka and Suki met?

Anyways after that Sokka learns more about being a helpful feminist ally and that’s why he still helps out in the gym even though Katara stoped taking classes and Suki and him broke up to be friends.
