One Fang-tastic Night  (The Vampire Diaries)

Last night was the season 7 premiere of The Vampire Diaries and the season 3 premiere of The Originals. Finally both of our favorite vampire TV shows are back-to-back! It is one glorious night for any teenage girl who finds vampires incredibly sexy. Speaking of sexy vampires lets talk about our favorite brothers, the Salvatore’s. 

We have a heartbroken Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) and a puppy dog Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley). One brother just lost his girl and the other one is chasing after one. Thank goodness Bonnie Bennett (Kat Graham) is there to babysit Damon as he helps Alaric Saltzman (Matthew Davis) get over the tragedy of his dead wife Jo Laughlin (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe). While the three of them are off in Europe Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola), Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig) and Stefan are back home in Mystic Falls where danger in near.

The heretic’s, Lily Salvatore’s (Annie Wersching) “Children”, have put Mystic Falls in danger with their inability to control their thirst for blood. This leaves many people dead and forces Caroline, Matt, and Stefan to evacuate the entire town making an agreement with the heretic’s to ensure peace between them. However that peace treaty is broken as soon as Bonnie and Damon return to town with the urge to fight for their home and end up killing one of the heretic’s.   

However it seems like in three years they are going to have a bigger problem then the heretic’s. Is there a new vampire hunter out to get Stefan. We see a flash forward of Stefan dodging arrows and awaking Damon for some assistance. At the end of the episode we see that Stefan has the same exact mark on his chest as one of the heretic’s. What does this mean?

The show has headed in a different direction now without Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). Of course the town is still in danger (as usual) but there is now a completely different storyline with the characters. They are making new connections with each other and Matt is finally moving up and defending the humans. I’m not sure if the show will ever be the same again, I’m not even sure if I like the direction the show is heading into. Who knows though, it is only the first episode and maybe it will get better or start to grow on me. Tune in every Thursday night 8p.m. (EST) on TheCW for more of The Vampire Diaries.

I don't think Elena necessarily came into my life to be my soulmate. I mean, she was. We loved each other, but she was also the only person I've ever met who actually believed that my brother was worth loving. And she reminded me that I used to believe that about him too. Her faith in him, it brought Damon and me back together, and yeah, I loved her, more than I ever thought I could love somebody else, but I think in the end I needed him more than I needed her.
