Bliss is a word he thought he knows only in theory, that he’d read about, that people have told him about. Of course he knows what it means to be happy, to laugh, to rejoice. He knows what it means to be in love. But a state of perfect contentment, lightness, lightheartedness, it’s a beautiful idea, but nothing that ever matched reality.
