Here are images from Xavier’s first taste test. She was placed in a cup, which was then set down on a plate with a semi circle of different food options arranged equidistant from her. Notice how she gets out of the cup at the top of the semi-circle, but then proceeds to walk past/over all the food options in order to get to the lettuce. She really loved that lettuce let me tell you. After that she went for the carrot (I recommend clicking on that image to see it full-size because it is just that adorable). After the carrot she wandered away, did some digging, ran in her wheel for a bit. At this point I put the remainder of the food on offer into the cup. She eventually came back to investigate these new possible foodstuffs in more detail, and I got plenty of pictures of her butt sticking out of the cup. She spent a looong time with he butt sticking out of there, so I had plenty of opportunities for hamuketsu shots and I will inevitably be sharing more of them later on. Surprisingly, despite the length of time she spent sniffing the food in the cup she didn’t actually eat any more of it. So I feel fairly confident that this means that she find cheese to be NOT to her liking (she took a tiny nibble of swiss before shunning both it and the gouda entirely). And I never did get a pic of her IN the cup that showed her face, the closest I came was this image of her standing on TOP of the cup:
