I do not understand my classmates constantly asking if [x amount] of references is enough. I am taking them by the shoulders. the professor did not tell you a number because the point is not for you to meet an arbitrary quota. how much information did you get from somewhere else?

#i don't GET IT!!!!!#“is 3 - 5 enough?” I don't know did you get your information from 3 - 5 places????#“do I need more” idk would the perspective of additional sources add depth to the work???#or show that you're not basing your entire project off one guy's opinion?#if you really do only draw from a couple external sources then is everything else from your own mind?#does it carry underlying assumptions that may need fact-checking?#tbf i probably over-source but i expect that to even out with confidence and practice #but i literally do not understand viewing citations as a quota like.#if you DID get your info elsewhere you can't choose not to cite them! it's not optional! that's just plagiarism classmate #what's going onnnnnn #grad program

5/8/21 clamp test day

I am back in the lab ready to test the clamps I have been designing with a friend.

I am still working out the kinks in my data collection methods but today I start official tensile strength trial runs with my 3D printed clamps.

I designed these clamps so I can test the bamboo in multiple planes with security and uniformity.

Feels good to create something and put it to good use.
