From my Black Black Gold series. The roots of where we came from should not dominate us so we progress forward and do no remain the same forever. Even the most basic urges are easily overcome once recognized as an obstacle. Keeping in mind where we came from recently should not make us disrespect our roots however.
The drawing is done on thin black paper with gold metallic marker and has glitter and glitter stars collaged to it. The figure has been drawn with black ink that has a shine to it, making it stand out at almost any angle. Finally, patterned film has been used to depict the robes of the figure.
