Decided to go into the DLC before fighting Radabeast, since i havent played through it since SOTE launched.

Going through it with a more focused attention, and while looking at Elden Ring’s lore background, i’m beginning to wonder if the Gloam Eyed Queen might’ve actually been related to the Hornsent directly.

Thinking about Marika being born as an Empyrean amongst the Shamans, is it possible the Gloam Eyed Queen was born an Empyrean amongst the Hornsent. After all, her implicit weapon of choice was the Blackflame Blade, which has its prominent spiral design pattern, a pattern that for the Hornsent is synonymous with a divine calling.

Maybe they worked closely together once, as fellow chosen Empyreans, and Marika helped facilitate the construction of the Divine Gate. Maybe that is the true betrayal the Hornsent speak of in regards to Marika, that she had their Empyrean candidate killed vis Maliketh, and then began her own crusade against them..

The only real counter to this is the lack of Black Flame/Apostle related instances in the DLC. I don’t even think there was originally any new black flame incants i can think of?

The connection I had for this lies in the presence of the Grave Birds, who are kin with the Death Birds, and protect the graves of very obviously Hornsent sites. Assuming the Gloam Eyed Queens direct connection to an Outer God was the one related to Destined Death - then that could tie her even closer to an aspect of Hornsent worship/belief. Black Flame and Spirit Flame are close in design on a visual level with the key and obvious difference being the inversion of colour. Where Black Flame is a majorly dark flame with white outline, Spiritflame is a majorly white flame with vague black outline.

I’m more inclined to think this isn’t the case, cause most of these links are either tenuous or coincidental at best.. but still…

If you guys want to know how DC reddit is going is this person complained they didn't like Nika x Damian despite never meeting her and complained they suddenly aged Damian up to be old enough for the teen titans. You know the character who aged very naturally and you can see that clearly if you follow him.

Ascoltai A Classic Education sul loro myspace (pace all'anima...) quasi un anno fa, li trovai molto canadesi per essere di Bologna, avevano delle foto molto bucoliche, non ricordo, forse non mi entusiasmarono, però mi rimasero simpatici. Li rividi al Soluzioni Semplici Festival alla Casa del Jazz a Roma suonare (prima di uno dei peggiori live acts dell'anno, ma quello ebbe un'affluenza enorme) davanti ad una dozzina di persone e l'impressione che ebbi fu strapositiva, il gruppo era sciolto, aveva estro senza mai essere sopra le righe, i pezzi erano molto pop e d'una immediatezza sorprendente, uno era uguale ad un pezzo dei Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, uno assomigliava a qualcos'altro, ma loro furono bravissimi. Un po' più ingessati (il pubblico d'altronde era un filino più numeroso) li trovai ad aprire la data Lucchese degli Arcade Fire e quando Win Butler in persona li ringraziò a fine serata, io me li vedevo già consacrati, salvo poi la conferma internazionale con l'annuncio del disco e i feature su Pitchfork e Altered Zones, solo per citarne due...per non parlare dei tour che intanto li vedono esportare in tutta Europa e negli States.

A Classic Education - Can You Feel The Backwash

Il 25 ottobre esce finalmente Call it Blazing, che è tutt'altro che un sorprendente album d'esordio, anzi, quello che consegnano i Bolognesi è un lavoro raffinato e rassicurante, come solo i migliori prodotti pop, nel senso che non ti investe né ti stacca la mascella, ma cogli il valore delle perle, e vi assicuro non poche, del disco, una volta che lo metabolizzi e che canti sopra le canzoni, oltretutto è un disco che si lascia ascoltare con una facilità ed un piacere unici. Le atmosfere sono molto retro, melodia pop 50/60, con un confezionamento sapientemente al passo con i tempi, anzi adattissimo alla realtà musicale odierna internazionale, discreto, lascia emergere il valore dei pezzi, costruiti su gentili ma squillanti chitarre Jangle e liriche acute e disinvolte, tutto spontaneamente catchy, come un classico (un classico...Classic Education...una chicca d'autore...no? vabè...).
