For St. Patrick's Day, these Green Ombre Cupcakes are a great treat. They will bring a little magic to your party with their beautiful gradient of green shades and sweet buttercream frosting. Fun to make and even more fun to eat!
Ingredients: 1 box of white cake mix. 3 eggs. 1/2 cup vegetable oil. 1 cup water. Green food coloring light, medium, and dark shades. 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 4 cups powdered sugar. 2-3 tablespoons milk. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Green sprinkles optional.
Instructions: Warm up your oven to 350F 175C and put cupcake liners in a muffin tin. Put the eggs, vegetable oil, water, and white cake mix in a large bowl. Mix the batter well and until it is smooth. Split the cake batter into three different bowls. With a few drops of light green food coloring, color one bowl. With medium green food coloring, color another bowl, and with dark green food coloring, color the last bowl. Mix each bowl until the color you want is reached. Begin by putting one-third of the batter into the cupcake liners with the darkest green batter. Then, fill the liners about two-thirds of the way to the top with the medium green batter. Last, fill the liners almost all the way to the top with the light green batter. Place the cupcakes in an oven that has already been heated. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean. Get the frosting ready while the cupcakes cool. Put the softened butter in a bowl and beat it until it's smooth. The powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract should be added slowly. Mix the frosting well until it's fluffy and smooth. Take the frosting and put it into three different bowls. One bowl should be colored light green, another should be colored medium green, and the last one should be colored dark green. Each bowl should be mixed until the frosting is the same color as the cupcakes. When the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them with the green frosting that changes colors. For a pretty touch, you can use a piping bag and a star tip. You can add some green sprinkles to the cupcakes if you want to make them look even better. You can now eat your St. Patrick's Day green ombre cupcakes. With a touch of green, they're the perfect treat for the holiday.
