I am finally hopping on the #bulletjournal band wagon. I found this super cute #planner, pages, and #stickers in the bargain bin at #Target! All the different sets were all either $1, $3, and $5! I love the style and went with actual pages instead of drawing them myself then just embellishing here and there. Some of the divider pages are folders so I made my own tabs with #washitape and used my label maker for the months. I've been working on it for a few weeks amd keep changing the plan. I wasn't sure what else I wanted other than a planner (I love the #calendar on my phone but the month at a glance is super tiny and the reminders don't always refresh. Plus, this is just more fun!) I decided this week to turn the back in a #biblejournal. I've been wanting to do that as well and then kept seeing study plans pop up on Pinterest. I really liked the sound of this one, by #thefelicitybee and started it today. I've been doodling the last few evenings, coming up with odeas, and filling out the calendar pages. The aforementioned after-cleaning blend. Added to both #diffusers and my #himalayanpinksalt #candles, (which also make great diffusers, especially in small spaces!) Love this one by @diffuserblends! Lavender and Cedarwood don't often make it into my #morning blends as they are both so #calming, but this one is actually a nice way to start the day. It is actually restorative, I think. Showing my #diffusers a little love this morning. We have been #diffusing Thieves #essentialoil like crazy! With the start of school and then some stuffy noses. It's probably one of my most favorite blends amd I use it not only for its air purifying and immune boosting qualities but I also love the smell. BUT there are some pretty potent oils in there and it seems to get into every nook and cranny of my diffusers! I had a more herbal blend in mind this morning and figured they needed cleaning anyway. Do you ever clean yours? You should! Show them some love! It's easy! • Just add a little water and some distilled white vinegar (how much depends on the size of the diffuser and how grimy it is but I usually fill them about half to two-thirds full. • Turn them on and let run about 5 minutes (and yes, in case you're wondering, my kitchen smells like a pickle factory as I was basically diffusing vinegar, but you need to let it run through the machine. The smell doesn't last long and I'll be diffusing something better shortly anyway). • Next, wipe them down inside and out with a clean cloth. The bigger one here came with a little brush to get in all the little spots, which works great; cotton swabs also work well. • Next, you can leave them out to dry, if you want, but mine usually just get filled right up amd put back to work! Henry loves #pasta and we like to make a grain-free version, but a local market had their #organic pasta and sauce #onsale this week so we took a shortcut! Ground turkey was on special as well and the plan was to make meatballs but we took another shortcut and I simply browned it, added some #broccoli, and seasoned it well with #garlic and #italianseasoning before mixing in the cooked pasta. Topped with the sauce and some #nutritionalyeast. Henry's #lunch today. Homemade #tunasalad (made with clean mayo) with #seaweedchips, #fresh #tomatoes and #grapes, #yogurt, and a couple of #glutenfree #chocolatechipcookies for a #treat. 😋 In his thermos, a #vitaminC drink with lots of ice to keep it cold; it has #electrolytes as well and is naturally sweetened. Here in hot Southern California, he's allowed to have a water bottle and so I pack him something he loves in his lunch bag then put an extra water bottle in his backpack. I'm not a steak person and used last night's leftovers to make the boys steak salads for #dinner. A date with the hubby twice in a week! I'm a lucky girl! An appointment at the school fell through so we took advantage of the fact we had babysitters and stopped for a bite to eat. This place is literally down the street from us but we've never been. I wasn't all that hungry and ordered their small Green Salad with no tomatoes (it also had pears and candied pecans and was really yummy!) and we shared a #cheeseplate (without the side of bread and we didn't miss it one bit!). Best. Dairy. Cheat. Ever! Oh, my gosh, it was so good! Kind of regretting how much I ate (despite not thinking I was hungry) but it was so worth it! Hubby had the Mediterranean Penne which was #pasta with #spinach, #tomatoes, #fetacheese, and he added #shrimp. He had Coors Light to drink (probably the main reason I could never get him to go completely paleo) and I had a house #cabernetsauvignon. Our waitress was awesome and very patient. She even made several wheat-free suggestions. One of the nicest compliments I've received recently came from the principal of my son's school last week when she declared his #lunch was, "awesome." I want to pack something #healthy but something he'll enjoy. And I'll admit, easy. For morning #snack, an #applesauce pouch. For lunch, a #hardboiledegg (which he absolutely insists on peeling himself), #ham, #fresh #grapes and #clementine #orange, and a #yogurt pouch. We just discovered these @justins #snackpack snacks with #pretzels and #nutbutter; this one is the #chocolatehazelnut, his favorite and a fun #treat, because every #lunchbag needs a treat, right? Henry actually chose these items himself. I made a couple of suggestions but it was all him (for instance, I pulled out some carrots and he went and grabbed the otange instead). I've been packing him a lot but we're still figuring it out. I'd rather he bring stuff home than be hungry. He actually has been eating most of it then finishing it for after school snack. We'll figure it out! This is all new! ❤ Date night with the hubby tonight. ❤ Dinner at @bluewatergrill_ with drinks (a @southcoastwinery #cabernetsauvignon for me and a @coorslight for hubby -- no, #beer is not paleo but he doesn't have to eat that way). Next up, for #appetizers, I had the Smoked Albacore. It came with crostini and tomatoes; I left off the crostini and they kindly substituted lettuce for the tomatoes; I made like a lettuce cup and it was SO good! It also came with red onions and capers. Hubby had #oysters on the half shell. For #dinner, I had grilled #salmon with sautéed #spinach and #brusselssprouts. Hubby's entree was the #shrimp and #scallops scewers. It was all so good. They have a #glutenfree menu and service was great; our waitress was very knowledgeable and accomodating. For #dessert, we headed to @ryanbroscoffee nearby and Chris had a Mexican Mocha; I had a #dairyfree Honey and Cinnamon #latte with #coconutmilk and we shared a #paleo #chocolatechipcookie.
