“… I’ll bring Groose, since I’ll be keeping him busy, and we’ll all meet here. Wild will have enough time to get the food ready for you by then,” Legend explained, moving the small figurines across the log to demonstrate his plan.
Time raised an eyebrow as he watched Warriors, Legend, Sky, Wild, and Twilight huddled together in conversation.
“Cooking up some romance, are we?” Time asked.
A blush bloomed across Sky’s face. “We’ll make it in time for Groose’s birthday, so I wanted to do something special.”
Time matched Sky’s smile. “That sounds lovely. How can I help?”
“Hm.” Legend stroked one strand of hair as he surveyed the plan. “We’ve got all the roles we need. You can be backup for keeping Sun on track if Twilight can’t.”
“Is this your plan?” Time asked.
Legend nodded without looking up.
“I didn’t take you for a romantic,” Time said. Legend’s hand paused where he was reaching for a new figurine.
“I’m married, too, you know,” Legend said.
“You’re what?” Wind yelled from across camp. He vaulted over fallen logs and slammed into Time’s side. Time put a steadying hand on his shoulder to keep him from falling onto Legend’s planning table.
“I’m married,” Legend said noncommittally.
“Explain!!!!!” Wind yelled.
“Ravio wanted to get married so he could commit more tax fraud,” Legend said.
Time chuckled softly. Legend’s words might not show it, but his tone was soft and his lips were barely held back from a smile. Time wondered if Legend was even aware of his true feelings.
“What’s tax fraud?” Wind asked.
“Nope!” Warriors hopped up and grabbed Wind by the shoulders, steering him away from Legend. “I’m stopping this now.”
“What? It was just a question,” Wind complained.
“Absolutely not. If you figure out tax fraud you’ll be unstoppable.”
