*Regulus is in James' bed and Sirius in Remus's and Rosekiller has spawned in the spare bed*

I can vividly imagine Remus braiding Sirius' hair just before breakfast, sharing one more soft moment in the morning and James leaving early, just to complain to Lily about the two of them being sappy the entire morning

So maybe pottermore answered this and I’m too lazy to check but... do the other three houses have ways to prevent not-girls from getting into the girls dorms?? Like we know Gryffindoor has the stairs-turn-into-a-slide thing but do the other houses have something like that?? And if they don’t, why? What must have happened to result in only Gryffindoor having those kind of restrictions?? I gotta know!!

Percy and Oliver Headcanon

I’ve always firmly believed that there would have been more then just them when it comes to Gryffindor Boys for their year. But I also firmly believe that Percy and Oliver shared a room just the two of them. Given that Gryffindor shows it’s possible to have five in a dorm (probably the maximum number per room) that means only one thing: the others made a conscious decision to move out.

As such, things that made the other three beg McGonagall for a room of their own Headcanons:

Oliver is the morning person of morning people.

He’s always up before six in the morning and thinks other people should be too.

The only person who appreciates this is Percy because he can’t get up on his own.

Percy is nightowl. He’s up and reading ahead or doing homework for hours past curfew.

Which makes it harder to get to sleep if you’re everyone else.

Oliver doesn’t mind, he sleeps through it. Or he convinces Percy of the benefits of a proper sleep schedule. (His parents are Healers in the private sector - read athletes and famous people).

Percy is always reminding others of deadlines and test dates and he does all his homework the day he gets it.

Pre-teen boys tend to not like doing that. They want to relax.

Oliver has never remembered a deadline that wasn’t Important and doing homework when he gets it means not having to worry about it or the detentions that come with not doing it.

Oliver, having parents who are healers and being a bit of a health nut, is always nagging his roommates about the about of sugar they consume and drinking more water.

Honestly, between them they’re too much like parents to be bareable for eleven year olds.

Things only get worse when it comes to the conversations they have.

Percy likes talking about politics and schoolwork and the applications of what they’re learning.

He complains about the usefulness of some of the Transfiguration spells

And when you really get him going How Uagadou teaches wandless magic to all their students and everyone’s an animagus by 13.

Oliver complains about school policy on brooms for first years and that students aren’t free to fly to cool off.

It would be fine, he says, if they were allowed to leave the common room in the mornings to take a run around the grounds.

But safety

When they start learning fun spells they start sending them at eachother.

A but like constant vigilance but fun.

Surprisingly it’s Percy that sends them first. Oliver sends them back, just because

Percy tells Oliver it’s to help him for when he makes the Quidditch team. Being able to see things coming is important for being Keeper after all. Really he just misses Fred and George.

The other First Year Gryffindor Boys tell McGonagall they don’t feel safe in their dorm and would like to move.

Bill and Charlie think it’s hilarious that this happened with Percy.

McGonagall half expects to be asked something similar with the Twins’ dormmates two years later.

She isn’t.

Those three boys don’t get to live it down.

I mean this whole scene is so pure

I know it’s not in the book but I love just imagining these nights when they aren’t worrying about school or Voldemort etc. and they just stay up late and laugh sO much and they also have loads of inside jokes with each other and just,,, their everyday friendships in their everyday school life :)

Is anyone else curious as to which passages Sirius used to sneak into the Gryffindor dorms? I'm sure that Harry would have asked about that at some point.

Because there were like three actual options. And it's never quite cleared up which he used that Halloween.
