*Around a campfire*
Percival, still avoiding mentioning his druid heritage: So, my lord, as you know, along my travels I met many a druid. They were kind enough to share stories of their gods.
Arthur: So which one will you be telling about tonight?
Percival: Emrys.
Merlin, who is Emrys, internally: What!?!
Percival, who is a druid that worships Emrys and has received the opportunity to tell the King of Camelot about his God:☺️☺️
Percival: Well, something all druids know is that Emrys is kind and giving. He is the God of Magic.
Arthur: *opens his mouth to object*
Percival, not looking and continuing: He is not just the God of Magic. He is magic incarnate.
Leon: Magic Incarnate?
Merlin: *sitting in the shadows of the trees pretending to do something but actually just panicking*
Percival: Yes, he is magic given form. He is part of one of our oldest prophecies. The Prophecy of Emrys and the On-
Merlin: *drops something on purpose, because he has called Arthur the Once and Future King to his face and this brings on questions he doesn't want to answer*
Merlin: Sorry, just dropped something.
Gwaine: Let me come help.
Merlin: No, no, it's fine. I'm fine. Everything's fine.
To be cont.
At what point does an incorrect quotes become too long? Cause I have one sitting in my drafts and it just insists on growing longer and longer and I need to know if I have to break it up into parts or reblogs (this will take some time and idk what to do with it) or what?
Okay, so on the topic of the Titanic, let's start at the beginning.
First, we must establish that the story is, for most part, biased. Rose is telling the story so everything, with exceptions, is coloured with her perspective and also time. The only parts not affected by her bias would be:
I honestly think that Mr. Andrews was the sweetest. He was so nice and then so guilty and apologetic. Like give the man some forgiveness. And he didn't look down upon Rose and he was honest with her and his profession and genuinely wanted the best for everyone.
Arthur, watching Merlin do his chores: Merlin, by the Gods, have you grown taller?!
Merlin, deadpanned and slightly puzzled: Yes, my lord. It's called growing taller. Perhaps you've heard of it?
Arthur, at 24 and exasperated: Yes Merlin, I have heard of it, but never at your age.
Merlin, definitely puzzled: At my age- At 18, sire? How old do you think I am?
Arthur:... YOU'RE 18!?!
Merlin: Yes, but you don't have to shout at me.
Arthur, whose protective instincts are rearing into place, because he doesn't even knight children below 20, who just realised he's been taking a literal child on many dangerous quests: Yes... you're right, of course.
Arthur, totally freaking out, internally: Of course, I can't shout, he's a kid. A child. My baby brother. Not my brother. Oh fuck it. I can admit it in my head. He's my little brother. I need to protect him better. Oh, GODS! I've been taking him on so many dagerous quests... and of course, he doesn't like hunting and tries to protect the animals, he's a Baby! ...dear Gods. I am the worst....
It takes a certain type of person to buy/make a whole as sticker tattoo sheet with what seems like repeats of the same tattoo, but in reality is in fact near identical ones except they slow transform into a entirely different tattoo. After which, they put it on the same spot on their body everyday of the year and watch as it baffles people who look into pictures of a few months ago.
That person is not me. But it is someone.
Okayyy.... so I'm going to be honest. I don't understand how people believe that that door was big even for two. Have you never had a lesson in buoyancy? Or a basic understanding of being under traaumatic stress? No offense, but also they literally tried that first? If the issue with it is that they could have switched positions periodically, then no. They really couldn't have. They didn't have the energy to spare and also the temperatures alone would have killed them and a minor fact that Jack wouldn't have agreed and frankly neither Rose nor Jack had the energy to spare for an argument. Also there's the major fact that Rose thought that both of them were going to die anyways. It's a fucking miracle she survived as it is.
That said. I do also kind of agree with you that Rose is kind of selfish. Not because she didn't agree to drown both of them and insist on wasting energy she didn't have, but simply because she was raised that way.
Bro.... rewatching the movies, how does Hermione know so much? Like some stuff I get. But other stuff? Like how to does she know that Mad Eye Moody is an auror and his first name is Alastor? Not stuff you find in a book, especially considering the man is still alive. How does Hermione know so much about magical cultural practices when Ron would normally be the one to speak?
Does anyone think that Rowling removed Ron from the Time Turner Expedition in the Third Year because Sirius didn't really need to know Ron, because he was alreay familiar with his character?
The moment Sirius saw Ron stand on his injured leg to defend his best friend, I think he saw James, just for a second and that why he paused for that second in his dramatic quest of revenge. He took that moment to be grateful that Harry had found friends like that Marauders, except that there was no fourth.... no fourth... No Pettigrew, that traitor, that treacherous rat!
(Let's ignore that he could never bring himself to call Peter anything but a traitor. None of the other worse things he had in his vocabulary. Peter, his brother. Pettigrew, that traitor and Wormtail, the treacherous rat, who offered their name, the one they gave him, to his brother's killer)
Arthur Pendragon has the emotional range for 'complex' emotions about a three people, maybe four if you're feeling generous. Those people are: Merlin of Ealdor, Morgana Le Fay / Morgana Pendragon, Uther Pendragon and Guinevere of Camelot, later Guinevere Pendragon.
Morgana: Self - Explanatory, hopefully.
Uther: Explained in Show, hopefully understood.
Gwen: Explained in Show, hopefully understood.
Merlin: See.. there's layers to this... firstly, in the beginning, Arthur saw him as impudent, then amusing and then finally annoying. This was all in the first episode. Then Merlin just swung between amusing and annoying but then amusing shifted to admirable as Arthur gain context and annoying became the new amusing, perhaps frustrating at times, but mainly amusing. Admiration confused Arthur but he could explain it away as amusement, but when admiration turned into affection... he found he could no longer pass it of as amusement. However, that was mainly because affection comes with a side plate of protective behaviour. It was at this point he realised they were friends, but he outwardly continued his denial. A couple of life and death situations later, he realised that he often checked with Merlin and looked to him for advice and that perhaps he was far too fond of him. That it was love he held for Merlin. Merlin, the boy who followed him around like a tail, shadowing his every move like he'd seen younger siblings do their older ones from afar. He'd often wondered if they weren't annoyed by the other's constant presence. Now, he knew they weren't. He smiled to himself as he realised that his childhood wish for a companion, a sibling, a little brother, who'd follow him around, hanging on his every word (because he loved him, not because he wanted something from him) who'd listen to his thoughts and instructions out of respect he'd earned, who'd stand by him through thick and thin, that childhood whim that had been fulfilled by his best friend. Not that Merlin could know, because obviously, God knows who he'd blab it too, the idiot. (He ignored the stupid grin on Merlin's face that said he already knew. Let's ignore that he totally didn't, because it pleased him that Merlin knew.)
Is anyone else curious as to which passages Sirius used to sneak into the Gryffindor dorms? I'm sure that Harry would have asked about that at some point.
Because there were like three actual options. And it's never quite cleared up which he used that Halloween.
No, no, go ahead. You should say the most out of pocket thing you have thought in a while. I mean, it's probably true anyways, right?
Do, however, pick your audience carefully. That's important. That is probably what will ensure your life doesn't fall apart because of your... individuality, to put it politely.
Does like anyone else have this urge or ardent desire to be mutuals and friends with the people you follow? Just to be able to tell them that their work matters and is wonderful and lovely in a way that'll mean something to them?
"Will you dance with me?"
"..."
"Why not?"
The heartbroken expression says it all.
