A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation Episode 7 Review - The Icy Black Cat
Studd has been around since episode 1 and this is the first time he’s gotten a lot of spotlight. He might be even more overprotective of Lizel than Gil is, and that’s saying something right there. People might be thinking that his crush on Lizel came out of nowhere, but it isn’t. If you remember how Lizel head-patted Studd back in Episode 1, that’s how his crush on him started.
Still, it’s cute how Studd is practically borderline yandere for Lizel. He gets competitive when it comes to his love for him. He got jealous when Judge bragged about sleeping next to Lizel and seeing his sleeping face and his overprotectiveness stems from him becoming belligerent towards Gil because they both have similar personalities, which Studd doesn’t want to admit. However, Studd is more like a cat than a guard dog like Gil. It does become funny if you think of Lizel’s harem as some sort of family with Gil and Lizel being the parents of Judge and Studd and seeing Studd being the most competitive of the bunch in terms of affection.
The funniest part of the episode is the fact that Studd told his entire life story to a sleeping Lizel. After asking his crush if he could sleep with him, it seems that Studd’s idea of sleeping together is for him to sit on a chair and talk about his backstory to Lizel. Anyways, before becoming a guild receptionist, Studd was an assassin who killed for a living, but reformed when he met the current Guildmaster. That’s why his ice magic easily harms people and he has fast reflexes.
Another funny moment I liked was when they celebrated Lizel’s promotion and when the other three were thinking about what Lizel would be like drunk, Gil assumed he’d be a horndog, which caused the scene and the characters to have an awkward silence. The fact that it all got silent was hilarious. At least Gil didn’t mind paying for the dinner afterwards.
Two new characters show up. First is Eleven, who is a solo C-rank adventurer who is a half-snake beastman. I have to say, his design is alluring. He’s serving so much c*nt. Though…it does make me wonder if he has two sticks down there… Given his sudden appearance and the close up of his forked tongue, he probably has something to do with the Forky Gang… He does feel like someone who’d come up with a dumb name like that out of whim. Given the calm vibes of the anime as a whole, I don’t think Eleven will be the final villain of the story. Maybe he’ll join the group at the very end?
Second is the Theater Troupe boss who is a rare female character in this mostly male-dominated story. Heck, she doesn’t even have a name, but I do like that she’s dedicated to her craft to the point that her job request was for someone to fix a mana stone she needs as an effects device. I think it’s interesting that she relies on mana usage for her plays rather than using props.
Now for the voice cast, Eleven is voiced by Tetsuya Kakihara who voiced characters like Natsu from Fairy Tail, Scaramouche/Wanderer from Genshin Impact, and Prompto from Final Fantasy XV. He’s also German-born, so he knows how to speak German. The Theater Troupe boss is voiced by Rika Morinaga, which is a surprise because it’s been a while since I heard her in an anime. She’s known best as her roles in Minami-ke as Mako-chan and in Tales of Vesperia as Rita Mordio. To be honest, I initially mistook her for Chiwa Saito because their voices sounded similar.
Also, you know this is a Lizel boyfriend gathering anime when all of his boyfriends show up in this episode, even Ray. Maybe it’s a sign that Eleven will be joining the Lizel harem soon? Anyways, let me know your thoughts on this episode!
NPC WIP again... I was not kidding that was most of what i have been scribbling the like year or so lol
This time it is the flats for the guildmaster of the Order of the Gilded Hydra, an adventuring guild that will be in my campaign (as soon as I finish getting all my shit together). They dont actually have a name yet... but details. ^^;
