A beast from Librum Prodigiosum! The Gulon from Scandinavian mythology! Also known as the Jerff, this beastie is fabled for its ravenous eating habits- it is often depicted forcing itself to defecate so that it never has to stop devouring- it does this by pulling itself between two trees!

The Gulon is a dog-like creature found in Scandinavia. The Gulon is described as a dog-like creature that is brown in color and has shaggy fur, floppy ears cat-like claws, and a fox-like tail. The Gulon is a symbol for gluttony and is very territorial attacking creatures larger than itself and eating until it couldn’t eat anymore; it would then stuff itself between two tree to force the contents of its stomach so it could eat again. The first sighting of the Gulon was by a man named  Olaus Magnus who described the Gulon as  "... great as a great dog, and his ears and face are like a cat's, his feet and nails are very sharp, his body is hairy, with long brown hair, his tail is somewhat shorter, but his hair is thicker and of this they make brave winter caps. Wherefore this creature is the most voracious, for when it finds a carcass, he devours so much that his body, filled by so much meat, is stretched like a drum, and finding a strait passage between trees, he presseth between them, that he may discharge his body by violence, and thus being emptied, he returns to the carcass and fills himself top full." Some skeptics believe that the Gulon is a wolverine due to the similar way the look and act.

The Gulon, also known as the Jerff, is a hybrid creature from Scandinavian legend. It is said to combine the features of several different animals, including the body of a dog, the head and claws of a cat, and the fur and tail of a fox.

The Gulon is known for its strange eating habits. After it has killed its prey, it will eat until its belly is swollen. Then, it will press itself between two trees in order to quickly force the meat through it so it can continue eating.

hey there! oooh, nice choice! :) I have not done this one yet, so settle in, I have a not-so-short answer for you!

5) gulons or dragons

I love dragons so much! so much! if I could have a mythical creature of my own it would most likely be a dragon! and one of my favorite movies is How To Train Your Dragon

but! I am so intrigued by gulons! what are they like? all we know about them is that they are green and that they smell (so, green skunks essentially lol)

so if Shannon based anything off of the folklore version of gulons for Keeper,then… they definitely wouldn’t be all that cuddly or even approachable, would they?

how in the world could Keefe have acquired not one but several to pull off the Great Gulon Incident (that he had nothing to do with, of course)?

and based on one of his paintings, Sophie tells us: “It felt like she was actually watching Keefe sneak through the grounds of Foxfire at night, carrying a wiggling green creature.” 

Keefe was carrying gulons under his arms. it makes it sound like they are far from their folklore counterparts, right? or do they just have a weakness he knows of that can make them harmless and transportable? maybe being an Empath helps with that, like it does with other animals?
