An angel and a demon meet on the walls of a garden. A very familiar story ... until it isn't.

After humanity is exiled from Eden into a world that isn't quite ready for them, the Almighty gives Aziraphale an additional Name and a new assignment. But his mission is more difficult than he expected - and the only one who seems to notice is his embittered hereditary adversary.

This starts out slow, but it turns quite bleak before the (eventual) happy ending. Mind the tags, and be good to yourself. UPDATE: Now COMPLETE, and with happy ending achieved!
