It's not okay to harrass people. To repeatedly invade their space. To mock them behind their backs. To insinuate they should die.

Even if they believe in something you think is morally wrong.

Even if it's illegal (that's when you report them and get the police or fbi involved, harrassment is not necessary)

Because even if your harrassment is "justified" by your beliefs, you're still doing the harrassing. You're being a harrasser. You're saying that this behavior is okay for someone to do at their discretion (different people have different ideas of who is "bad enough" to worthy being harrassed, and you might feel justified now but so will the person with opposing views who comes to harrass you) and it is never okay.

Saying "_____ die" is not okay.

Thanks to the strangers who made sure I wasn't harrassed by a stranger today / 07/22/17

Today me and my parents were in a bar. As we wanted to leave, my mum decided to get some money at the ATM, so my dad and I were left behind.

A couple minutes before I had a small row with my dad because he still treats me like a 12-year old sometimes (for example tickling me in public although i tell him to stop; “stealing” my stuff so i have to ask friendly if i can have it back) I was still a bit angry when my mum left us.

Me and my dad talked a bit until he wanted to annoy by “stealing” the cap I was wearing. I stopped him but I glared at him until he went outside to smoke.

That was when a couple at the table next to me asked “Do you know this guy?”.

I answered “No, it’s just my dad” but thanked them after my moment of surprise. It showed me that they would have helped me in case this was actually a stranger harrassing me. I am still grateful.

I am grateful that there are still brave people who would’ve protected me and would’ve stand up for me as it could’ve been a lot worse.

I want to raise awareness that instead of my father, it actually could’ve been a stranger. You see, it’s YOU who actually can make a difference!!

This act of kindness makes me feel really protected and shows me that i’m not alone.

So thank you really much, you are truly everyday-life heroes!
