Like i know Shane knows he's objectively good looking. Like he's no doubt got people telling him all the time, and he knows Ilya would not have kept fucking him if he wasn't hot. But I want someone to write a fic about how after they get married, having Ilya so fucking obsessed with him is making Shane actually feel like he's the hottest man on the planet. It wasn't until the person who Shane considers the sexiest person on earth was in his space panting after him 27/7 that Shane was able internalize the fact that he's extremely fucking hot.

Shane is not a fucking nerd. Don't make me get out a spray bottle for you people. Like yes high school Ilya would have bullied him, but again about hockey, cause he's not a nerd or a skinny little guy. He's a teenager on the verge of going pro in the NHL. Be so for real right now.

Shane would bully children who were unkind to his children. He would use his fame and status to get back at families that are mean to his child.

I think the part that is pissing me off about some of the Shane's shame posts is that some of them make assumptions as if post-tlg Shane carries the same shame and repression as the Shane we meet in the beginning of Heated Rivalry. Like yes the dude has shame and repression, he's still working through his internalized homophobia. But he's grown and he's still growing and that shame and fear do take up much less space in his life.

He is not the same guy he was 12 or even 6 years ago, alone in his lonely sex condo stewing over how bad and shameful he is. He has people and connections and he has Ilya who he is constantly reaching out for connection to and working on himself for. Yes, getting outed is gonna be one of the worse things that ever happens to him. But his trajectory is not saying that he will calcify into this miserable hurtful person. Also I think that having that worst experience, living through it, and then maybe living through the resulting mental breakdown will give Shane more resiliency in the future. It sucks so bad and is not a good thing it happened to him but coming out the other side will be something he can use.

Anyways picture me under a blanket screaming leave shane alone.
