I love how the fandom expands the KPDH experience but it bothers me a little how some things are taken as canon as if everyone thinks the same things, when the fun of headcanons is that people get to share their own interpretations!
So here's a list of headcanons I have that I don't think are as popular (to be added):
- Rumi wasn't a friendless kid, she used to play with the other kids in her village in Jeju, some of whom she still talks to;
- on the topic of Jeju, the people from the village actually know about demons and the hunters since they basically live on sacred grounds, although they don't know about Rumi being a demon until post canon;
- Zoey's parents are divorced however she had a good home life and she really enjoys the "extra parents" that came along with her bio parents remarrying;
- Zoey also has several younger siblings/half siblings/step siblings that look up to her a lot;
- Mira has a decent relationship with her brother, they're not super close but they see each other a couple times a year;
- Mira was homeless pre Huntrix 'cause her parents kicked her out;
- Bobby has an apartment in the Huntrix tower;
- Bobby is just a good friend and not their dad (he's only in his 30's, come on);
- Rumi had private tutors at home because Celine wanted her to focus on hunters stuff and not be distracted by school but she was not homeschooled in the traditional sense;
- Mira and Zoey went to traditional school (in SK and in the US respectively) but Celine got them private tutors after they moved in with her for training so they could finish their education;
- Celine was a mother figure to Mira because of her difficult relationship with her family;
- Celine was actually a pretty good mom aside from when it came to Rumi's patterns;
- Mira has been in therapy for years and her therapist is one of the only people outside of the Jeju village who knows about demons;

♡‧₊˚ He obviously doesn't know what this feeling is, after all he has never felt something so powerful for someone since Maria. He may even have thought it was selfish of him to compare you to her, not wanting to see you as a "replacement" or something like that.
♡‧₊˚ He doesn't like to talk about feelings (especially his), but Rouge is attentive enough to care about him and notice how he feels around others, especially around you. She must have noticed it before Shadow himself did.

♡‧₊˚ Nonsense. Where did she get that from? Shadow had no time for love. Love is a powerful word, a word he would only use to describe his relationship with Maria, practically his only family back then.

♡‧₊˚ This distracted him on missions, it occupied his mind more than he admitted or let on, until a point where he simply started avoiding you, thinking it was your fault. You waved at him and he ran; You got close and his spines stood on end; You smiled, and he refused to smile back.
♡‧₊˚ After a few days, he finally stopped to ask himself.
♡‧₊˚ Why was it your fault?
♡‧₊˚ It's not like you have the power to put feelings in him, and he knows that very well, he's not naive. But he also doesn't know how to deal with it yet.
♡‧₊˚ Shadow apologized and went back to his usual behavior around you, but if you were observant enough, you'd notice he was different. That he looked at you differently.
♡‧₊˚ Your dynamic was the same as always, but now Shadow felt an intimacy he hadn't felt with anyone else before. A certain discomfort, perhaps?

Iris kids have colour changing eyes. It may or may not depend on their mood, and it's a spectrum. Some experience drastic changes while some don't experience it at all.
HOMOROMANTIC ASEXUAL NICO
Annabeth suffers chronic pain in one of her shoulders from when she had to hold up the sky (some days she can barely move it) [i originally saw this here and loved it]
The Cocoa Puffs are very very cuddly, but only with people who Nico trusts fully [they act like lapdogs and fight for attention]
Nico is a part time cane user because of chronic pain (though he should use it more than he does) [also from here]
On really bad days he needs a wheelchair but almost never uses it and just endures the pain until it gets too bad. [Chiron tries to cheer him up by saying that they were both wheelchair buds now! He'll never admit it, but it did cheer Nico up a little]
Most demigods have hyper mobile joints
did i mention homoromantic asexual nico? he's sex averse
Apollo kids who have the healing end of the powers can cure almost any injury, but can't cure chronic or genetic illnesses
Many times Nico just. Forgets to eat. When asked, he usually just says that he was getting to it or more commonly that he didn't remember he was a human being with human needs
The Cocoa Puffs sometimes reflect Nico's emotions.
Gods don't need to breathe, so demigods can hold their breath for a LONG amount of time. Talking 15-20 mins here
SEX AVERSE NICO
Will sleeps completely sprawled out. Like a starfish. Nico sleeps curled up in a little warm cozy ball under his covers [like me!]
Nico, Will, Percy, and Annabeth developed slight asthma because of the air in Tartarus
Also these are great!
Nico and Will aren't particularly athletic, but Nico likes to run on the good days, when the pain isn't bad. Just up and down Half-Blood Hill, or to go to eat, or wherever. Will hates running though
Percy's middle name is James or Jim because Sally wanted to honour her father.

Author’s Note: As a fellow southerner, I thought this was a super cute request! I had a hard time thinking about what exactly to write here, but I got it under control. I know this request is old anon, but it really got buried under the others. I hope you find this fic and enjoy it!

I . ACCENTS
Accents are great. They’re amazing. To you and Remy, at least. The rest of the team can find themselves groaning and complaining when it seems like you and Remy are babbling to each other in a language no one but the two of you can comprehend. Don’t get them started on how your accent gets thicker when you’re scolding or yelling. Remy loves it. He just listens to you spit every word, every slang, all of it. The team will ask what you’re saying, and Remy tells them that if they were meant to hear it, you’d make a better effort to talk in a comprehensible manner. Sometimes the opposite happens. Remy will get absolutely pumped and start to ramble in that sweet Cajun accent. Translations? No time. You’re too busy enthusiastically hyping him up.
II . TEAM UP
You and Remy came up with a fun little team up tactic. Your mutation allows you to hold on to and throw back powers that are thrown at you. One day Remy wanted to play around with this. He charged up a card, and called out to you. “Aye, cher! Catch!” You quickly turned and caught the card. You felt the flaming energy build up in your palms that cupped around it. You winced and dropped it on the floor before looking at Remy and smiling. He returned a knowing smirk, and that led to your next battle being an excited one. The other mutants watched in awe as you caught a card, held on to it tightly, and flicked it towards one of the mechanical henchmen you were going against. Remy whooped excitedly, cheering you on as the card had sliced through the robot like butter, even going a few feet into the ground under the metal thing.
III . COUNTY FAIR
What kind of “x southern!reader” headcanon list would this be without the mention of county fairs??? Since the two of you got close, you’d go to every county fair within a five hour drive. On your calendar, you’ve got the dates of every single fair marked down. The fairs are such a relaxing, calmly intimate experience for you guys. Holding hands, screaming on the rides, petting all the animals—it’s all so great. For the hours you spend there, the fact of some people being discriminating towards mutants just leaves completely. The fair is a place to have fun! That’s exactly what it is. Sometimes the two of you have a little *too much* fun. This means coming back to the mansion with funnel cakes, handmade crafts, and a ton of stuffed animals to share with everyone.

- Jack can speak Spanish and knows a good amount of ASL from living/being on the streets of New York
- His bio parents taught him German, but he isn’t entirely fluent in it and is super rusty with it since he’s not really spoken it in some time
- Danny's first language isn't English and that's why he can't be hypnotized in English (stolen from @manisanythingnottaken hehe) but rather Polish and he knows Latin, some French, and textbook Spanish, and enjoys just. learning/knowing languages
- Henley speaks French fluently, she was raised bilingual French and English
- She also has a French accent-- at least a mild one-- but she makes an effort to cover it up most of the time
- Everyone is shocked to hear her sounding super French one night when they're either drunk or super tired
- Danny learned French because of Henley
- Merritt knows Italian and a healthy amount of Spanish
- Merritt also knows German because he and Chase wanted to learn a language together when they were little (around 10-ish) that nobody else knew so it was like a secret, and they thought German sounded funny because of how aggressive it was
- Danny has incredibly neat handwriting
- Henley has a really really elegant cursive that's just super beautiful and Jack cannot, for the life of him, decipher it
- Merritt is great at copying handwritings and so he tends to shift in writing style a lot but has a pretty generic default script, if a little messy
- Jack's default is chicken scratch, it's a bunch of different bits and bobs from different fonts crammed together and worse than that all his letters in a single word are connected because he rarely picks up his pen/pencil
- Jack also has a red ballpoint pen he prefers to use
- He lost it once and was upset asf abt it and used one of Henley’s red colored pencils instead

- Has light blue eyes and after Kenny got him in the eye with the ninja star he went a few years without having a second eye. His parents finally got him a glass eye after he had a breakdown over looking weird
- Fav animals are pandas and hamsters
- He draws a lot. More than shown in the show, He spends most of his downtime drawing
- Classes he does the best in is Business and science
- Skips class to probably have panic attacks or something idk
- Dyslexic probably
- Autistic (as one with asd he def has it)

- Isolates himself, especially when he doesn’t feel free to be himself. Will go quiet and blend in with the background or just leave to go home or skip class
- Resentment, frustration build up over the years and sometimes gets violent over it. Feels horrible afterwards and isolates himself for weeks if he has a violent outburst
- Sometimes wakes up screaming from nightmares
- Low self esteem. Truly Believes he deserves all his punishments and constantly puts himself down. Believes he is a bad kid when in truth it’s very much the opposite
- Acts irritable or closed off sometimes
- Don’t get me wrong he’s not innocent he’s done some bad things lmao
- Often does socially inappropriate things (ASD to blame for that)
- the day a girl beat him up (Bebe) was the day he started to respect women (or keep his mouth shut)

- hyperfixates on subjects a lot and doesn’t really keep a consistent special interest (has a few persistent ones but doesn’t hyperfixate on them, they more so wake up from their slumber from time to time when new things come out)

- has bad memory, mostly around the more traumatic parts of his life or when he’s sad. He completely forgets about the time his mom tried to kill him and when he saw his dad in the motel
- more so about his mom this time but she actually (Tw suicide) kills herself when Stevens caught in the bathhouse, he doesn’t come home in this au/headcanon list and she goes through with it.
- he casually drops this fact to the group / his friends and then goes and cries by himself in the bathroom
- Steven hates butters because he looks like Linda, takes out his frustrations on him
- before that linda was also known to be prone to mental breakdowns and depression
-lost his mittens so he doesn’t have any (his parents don’t buy him new ones as a punishment for losing his old ones)
