Hebe Demigod Headcanons

some are jaded due to being perceived as younger and immature

they can communicate with chickens and eagles

because their mom is often as seen an attendant/herald of Aphrodite they have above average speed but aren't as fast as Hermes or Iris kids who are primary known as messengers

Her demigod children get along well with Aphrodite's, Hercules, Her sons Anicetus and Alexiares, Ares, and children of the gods that are apart of the Theoi Gamelioi (the gods of marriage: Erotes, Peitho, Charites, Harmonia, ect.)

they are great at catering and the food especially nostalgic food they ate during their childhood

are great at helping in organizing and preparing weddings

a lot of them are very forgiving and believe in second chances as their mom was worshipped as a goddess of forgiveness or pardons

always know how to turn the knob in showers and baths so the water is to their liking (referencing the fact that some of her duties included drawing her brother Ares bath.)

usually have a great relationship/interactions with their godly side of the family

their mortal parents usually met Hebe going by Dia or Juvia as an alias .(Dia being one of the other names she was worshiped under and Juvia in reference to her roman counterpart Juventas.)

love a good salad (in reference to the myth of Hera getting pregnant with Hebe by snacking on some lettuce)

children of Hebe are usually born in the spring

they are good on their feet and take to dancing easily (Hebe being described as one of Aphrodite's attendants/herald and seen dancing with the goddess)

Headcanon: Hebe kids can be vengeful and stubborn as hell and are serious about ”please” as the magic word.

Let’s say a Hermes kid does something that pisses of a Hebe kid… Hebe kid’s response?

Cursing the Hermes kid to have the head of a baby and the refusing to change it back. The Hermes kids have to go to Chiron to make the Hebe kid change the Hermes kid back. Chiron asks them to but Hebe kid still refuses.

Eventually they have to ask Mr D for help and Mr D who’s related to Hebe knows exactly what to do: ”Hey [correct name], could you PLEASE change them back now?”.

Then ✨POOF✨ the Hermes kid is back to normal.

I can totally see this being a thing, either intentional or unintentionally since Hebe can rewind someone's age to a younger age at her pleasure, but that's because she's a god,

her demigod children can technically do this but being half-mortal, they're more bound to time and thus harder so perfect rejuvenation is complex and incredibly difficult, so it is unintentional/intentional.

It is a funny idea but man, it can go turn into horror very easily-

Hebe's gimmick in PJO of always having to be the youngest in the room is ridiculous.

Something I've never seen in any Greek and Roman arts of Hebe/Juventas is her being infantilized (to my pleasant surprise). She's depicted as a young woman but always still clearly a woman past sexual maturity, not a girl.

She's given birth to babies before so Rick's take on her doesn't even make sense. Does she turn into a fetus right after giving birth to a newborn?

In Percy Jackson: Chalice of The Gods, it is established that Hebe, goddess of youth, always has to appear as the youngest person in the room. It’s established that this isn’t something she can control but rather something that just happens. This I propose, would therefore make it impossible for her to get pregnant. As the baby inside her would be younger than her, and she would automatically become younger than it.

But it is canon that Hebe and Hercules have children. So how did these kids come to be? The answer is obvious your honor, Hercules mpreg.

Cabin 18 - Hebe - Headcanons

BABY FACED CAMPERS!!!

They look SO young compared to their actual age its nuts

Like if (and that's a big if) one of Hebes kids made it to the age of 60, they'd probably look 40 it's insane

When the older campers like 21 (I think that's the legal age to drink in America right?) Went on a quest and needed a drink at some point bc like they've seen some stuff they'd get ID'd SO quick

Someone definitely had a theory at some point that Frank may have been a child of Hebe before he got that buff magic from his dad

The cabins decorated with pastel colours and scattered with comfort items from when the campers were young and walls are filled with family photos, not just of specific campers and their mortal familys but the whole cabin too

And when there's a new camper they INSIST on remaking the photo woth that new camper

Any other campers who have passed before the new photos were taken are still commemorated somehow in the photo, maybe with an old special object of theirs

I'm not sure why but when I think of the Hebe cabin I can instantly see a wooden rocking horse like it kind of looks like the blue plastic Fisher price ones except its wooden

Hebe tends to claim her children while they're still really young, which is when she feels a stronger connection to them however she does still try to keep this connection going as they grow older

Unfortunately it does become more difficult for her when they grow older as she's better with her younger kids

She does genuinely try though and her kids understand this

She's like the epitome of a nursery teacher (not sure what age kids start school everywhere else but nursery kids in the UK are aged 3-4)

Alot of her kids tend to be quite childish too like they have that childish sense and childlike laughter

Their voices are somewhat higher pitched too

Hebe shows up for a few seconds in a one-shot im writing (not the ethanbaster or vine teacher shot but Dionysus-centric) to kickstart the plot, and i just realized something

Hebe's entire thing is that she physically has to be the youngest person in the room

So what about outside? Does she just fucking disappear? Is there a range? Is it just the people around her?

She's in the camp at the start of the fic so does she just appears younger than the youngest person in the camp bounds?

headcannon that demigod children of hebe have a propensity for cannibalism and have been mistaken for vampires throughout history

this is based on nothing but my love for tokyo ghoul and a vague remembrance of elizabeth bathorys supposed crimes, but i love it too much to let go
