Sacrum Dae Hekate
Her Altar
Me about Hecate when I see her symbolic animals watching over me
Unexpectedly, I’ve been having a number of vivid, intense dreams featuring what I think may be some way of communion with Hecate. Anyone particularly interested in discussing this one on one or have experience with this?
“ Hecate teaches us that the way to the vision that inspires renewal is to be found in moving through the darkness.”
Inspired by a friend and fellow witch, I have decided to take on the questionnaire “ 31 Days of Witchcraft ”
So over the course of this month I shall answer one question a day in effort to both allow my friends and followers to know more about me and my craft, and perhaps even discover something new about myself.
Lets begin shall we -
31 Days of Witchcraft: Day 1
- How did you discover your path?
Growing up I had always been intrigued by fairytale and mythology, of course I had also been one of the lucky who saw beyond the veil. I remember that when I was very young it hadn’t seemed out of place, yet as I grew older I began go wonder why Magik had always felt so real and ever present for me but not others my age.
In attempt to figure things out I began to further study myths, folklore and world religions. With this I found strange comfort when reading tales of Witchcraft, tales of the fae folk, and the mythos behind the ancient gods.
I, of course, wanted to learn about all of them. But the more I read the more I felt myself being drawn to the Greek deities and soon found a name to an all too familiar face. Hecate, the goddess who had watched over me as a child, her presence ever near. She had been calling me to my path and I finally knew how to answer.
However, as with all things in life, my path is ever changing. With every new discovery, each newly learned rite, and knowledge gained I am walking my path. I don’t know where it will go or how far it will take me, but I am enjoying every step and every day.
