Finally posting some lore I'm super excited!💖😤
She's an English teacher teaching a middle school in London. She paints in her free time and incorporates art into her lessons. Ruki also has a great interest in the aesthetics of the past, especially the gothic era with its architecture and clothes.
She's also very superstitious, believing in jinns (or demons) but never vampires even though she is fascinated by them and thinks they're nothing but a myth, until recently.
Unknown to her for the longest time, she's part vampire. Born from a half vampire mother and a human father. She never met her mother and lives with her father to the present day (Who never told her of her true identity until she brought it up when Alucard told her.)
Her cold hands and iron deficiency (due to the lack of drinking blood) were subtle signs of this part of her but she never knew.
Her own blood is a rare delicacy among vampires and because of its special properties she's able to attract vampires. This poses a great threat to her so she's later taken under the Hellsing organization for both protection and to lure out the vampires in hiding.
Alucard also is particularly drawn to her, not knowing exactly why in the beginning (but wanted to find out, knowing for sure it's something else along with her physical appearance). This causes him to follow around, protecting her until she's brought to the organization with her father.
(Later when he gets a chance to taste her blood it makes him realize why he craved it so much. Alucard turns out to be the reason she finds out she's part vampire, leaving many questions in her head about her true identity and the existence of vampires).
This whole Pandora's box of research on vampires and her increased paranoia was brought on when she started to read Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Upon researching she saw cases from the 1880s up until present day of cases of creatures in the shape of humans but with fangs and a thirst for blood. But later found out that these rumors were circulated due to the appearance of humans after death (how their teeth and nails grew, a red like substance flowing from their mouth after death, and their grayish complexions).
There was also a condition known as Porphyria which caused skin to become brittle when exposed to sunlight.
But along with rationalizing all this with science and superstitions, she saw accounts from some people (who's experiences were devalued) saying they spotted a vampire attack or heard of one.)
Were these experiences actually true?
Later in the night (she stayed way too long at the library reading all this), she passed by Alucard, from the moment she saw him, her fixation on vampires made her spot his fangs (and she could've sworn she saw red eyes behind those shades…)
He told her it was late and she should be getting home, it's dangerous at night after all. Alarm bells rang instantly in Ruki's head. Something was incredibly off about him.
Thanking him politely but quickly, she was off to go home as soon as possible.
Before sleeping she couldn’t shake the feeling of what she saw. Did he really have fangs and red eyes? And those clothes… What and who was he exactly?
But Ruki kept telling herself she was just being irrational, but both her fascination and paranoia lingered.
Despite this she went to school to teach as usual (unaware of a shadow watching her closely)
One of the children asked if vampires existed during the lesson and Ruki immediately got a look of fear in her eyes (despite trying to take her mind off it the whole time and trying to keep her composure)
She was quick to laugh and say no of course they don't and continue on the reading. Her mind wandered the entire time.
Eventually it was time to go home again and Ruki felt particularly drained that evening
She begrudgingly walked through the streets again with a fast beating heart and quick frantic steps.
On her way a man approaches her (perhaps sensing her anxiety)
“Hey there miss, you need a ride home?”
She politely told him no and kept walking
But the man didn't let her go. He kept following behind
Ruki panicked but tried to remain calm, which she failed to do
The man eventually corners her into an alleyway, pinning her against the wall and telling her how tasty she looked after sliding her scarf off.
Tasty…? Some ordinary creep wouldn't say something like that. And before she could do or say anything she saw his fangs and red eyes.
Gunshots were fired into his skull and then there was that man again from before…
He had saved her right in the nick of time. It was strange to bump into him again but Ruki couldn't have been more thankful.
(MORE COMING SOON!! , sorry for my bad and repetitive writing I originally wrote this in a point format! I'm just really excited to write more in their dynamic!)
