Now that S2 is over, I think I'm starting to realize that Charlie and Blitz are 2 sides of the same coin. They're both ambitious visionaries that want to change an unfair system that affects their people but give very little thought into how to do it properly. They have a lot of love to give but struggle with empathy due to their upbringings. They both have guilt about what happened to their respective mothers because of their actions. They act obnoxiously cheerful to hide their insecurities and personal angst. They've had moments of lashing out at the people they love and taking them for granted due to being too wrapped up in their heads. They don't give much thought to violating personal boundaries. They're both hypocrites that don't apply their lessons to themselves unless pushed in front of a mirror. The only differences are their social standing, race, the types of business they run, their moral alignment (Charlie being a force of unfettered chaotic good while Blitz is mostly chaotic evil/neutral), and one says sorry too much while another doesn't say it enough.
Oh, absolutely one HUNDRED percent agreed on that.
Honestly, I've been getting that vibe since all the way back in Season 1, for pretty much all the reasons you listed. In fact, I can list a few more:
They have both been incredibly repressive towards their personal issues, baggage and trauma to the point of EXTREME denial, and I'd argue both have thrown themselves into these massive, life-defining goals as basically a distraction from their issues.
As I've discussed in the past, I have a pretty strong hunch at this point that Blitzo getting into the assassin business and starting I.M.P. is in very large part a way to avoid dealing with and even internalizing his own trauma and self-loathing. Just look at his whole 'I destroy everything!' breakdown. Which of course would perfectly parallel how Charlie has now all but outright stated that her fixation on the hotel and redeeming sinners is in large part driven by her long-repressed issues related to her mother.
Also I think there is something to be said of how it seems VERY likely that for both Charlie and Blitzo; the ultimate narrative, ideological antagonist of their arcs as characters are likely to be the parent that is the source of so much of their repressed baggage, issues and trauma: Cash Buckzo for Blitzo, and Lilith for Charlie.
