Yesterday I picked up Lyndsay Faye's Observations by Gaslight again. And you know how on the cover there are often quotes by critics? Well, apparently the Sherlock Holmes Society called it "An enjoyable read". AN ENJOYABLE READ????????? You're calling being stabbed in the heart twice on each page and being healed only to be stabbed again "An enjoyable read"????????? This is an insult. Arguably the best published Holmes pastiche out there and they call it "An enjoyable read". I need to bite someone
