Based on Roll Over and Die (kinda? Just with the corrupt hero party leader thing)
Im thinking the hero party consists of at LEAST
Healer: Wen Qing
Leader: Wen Ruohan
Knight: Lan Wangji
Archer: Wen Ning
Sorcerer: Wei Wuxian
Look at our hero party dawg, we're doomed

"Ya done good, lad. Show'd them beasts nothin but the best." Another pat on the back from a man he'd never met before in his life.
Kalx returned a feeble smile. "I'm only glad the town is safe," he managed, his brows knit together in clear distress.
The man let out a hearty laugh from deep in his gut. "We need more like ya on the front lines, I say." He threw his head back, hands planted firmly on his hips. "Or maybe just out an' about 'round here. No amount'a carin gets things done 'less yer willin to shoulder some work."
"T-that's right," Kalx returned, "absolutely right. I'll do my best when I return..." He stumbled through his words. "I'll put in a word with the royal guard. I'm sure they'll listen."
The man lifted a corner of his stubble-ridden face. "You jes do that." He shook his head and chuckled darkly to himself, then excused himself and meandered off to find some grub. When he was gone, Kalx exhaled sharply.
A tiny voice from beside him piped up above the racket.
"It never gets easier, does it? I hate this part, too."
It was half-pint -- the ferocious ferret he'd met some three days before. Always looked beat up and scraggly, but somehow clean, if that combination was even possible. She'd introduced herself as Sorelle. Kalx had learned very quickly that she meant business.
He touched a metal-gloved finger to his forehead. "I should learn," Kalx lamented, "I can't keep choking like this..."
Sorelle tore into her dinner, happily chomping off a bit of roasted fowl and swallowing it whole. She grinned, but said nothing, going back to the colorful array of food the villagers had been kind enough to bless them with. The way all the spices mingled on the steam wafting up from each carefully-prepared piece, it was almost too good a reward for knocking the spunk out of some silly monsters...
