Some OSR style hexes I made just for fun.
There is a sinkhole at the bottom of the map. It grows, hollowing the world out. Worms eating the dirt and shit. The rain is leaving soon, but everything else is okay. This is the final (only) stage of the world, of Vivetra's Greed and you. The future stands strong on bloody stone. Cracks in pillars are like cracks in bone, they hurt pointlessly, they're no reason to stop. There will always be more bones and stone and dirt and shit.
Leave Your Bones
Whalefall is an OSR-inspired dour fantasy solo rpg with influence from Fear & Hunger, Disco Elysium, Silent Hill, and my parents. Its free and you dont even need to play it.
Updated with a new title page, a character sheet, and a map key.
We're thrilled to see @ratwavegamehouse fight their way to funding Transgender Deathmatch Legend II with ripped-up knuckles and bloody lips. If you haven't heard of it, TDL2 is a badmouthed, hexcrawling, aggressively queer card-based beat-em-up TTRPG about trans wrestlers in the city of Slamchester. And boy aren't those some familiar names on a future stretch goal. :)
Go pile-drive this hyperviolent queer hexcrawl into the concrete with even more support! The next goal funds a zine of kickass playable characters written by some very talented friends, and Jonny and Sasha get to add two freaks to the roster at the £4500 stretch goal. Cheers and mayhem!
Our server’s map contest has been finished! The winner is Sol, the prospector General, of the mining guild. Look at this BEAST of a hex map she made.
This map shows most of spawn continent, named Cradle, by server players.
big map for my next tactiquest campaign
Just finished a game of Michigan Dogman with my mom who doesn't really play RPGs.
Guys.
I think this game got the magic of roleplaying through to her.
Michigan Dogman's prompts have a really careful balance of setting up easy to journal scenes while still giving you plenty of space for self expression. It really helped fascilitate interesting storytelling even from someone who isn't part of the hobby.
And after we finished the game she said "it would be really cool if there were more advanced options to create things like other characters and situations whenever you entered a new hex, or if when you revisited a hex that had already been discovered you could alter its terrain with your character."
My mother craves the hexcrawl. She hungers for the hexagons of exploration.
I made a discord server for those wanting to play test my post apocalyptic hexcrawl card based rpg!
It’s single or multiplayer.
Check out the Blue Bear Games community on Discord - hang out with 2 other members and enjoy free voice and text chat.
The game is available as a print and play or as a tabletop simulator mod. Links to both versions are pinned to my tumblr page and in the discord itself.
