It’s not the best, but better than nothing. Almost forgot that Í was going to post something today. Editing a movie for class took most of the time today.
Part 2, revealed secrets
Part 3.
Villain swore when nothing worked, throw the machine away. Then glanced at the ceiling they still needed to be fixed. So much to do and yet half of it still missed a decision, the only thing villain was sure of was hero. Everything had been a mess since they had decided to be with hero, still, the happiness was worth the prise.
The phone supervillain had given them rang, had done a few times a week. Villain knew better than ignore supervillain, they had to survive this too. “What is it?” Villain answered harshly and still irritated. Worried for hero, they only hoped it wasn’t too obvious.
“Is everything alright?” Supervillain heard that something wasn’t right, and they enjoyed it very much. Villain didn’t answered that, saw the broken window. “Waiting for [hero] to call?” Supervillain said and villain froze suddenly.
Supervillain laughed, “or should I say, darling?”
They knew, “for how long have you…?”
Supervillain cut of the sentence, “since the start. Maybe even before that, hero is the reason you stalling.” Villain didn’t say anything, just wanted to throw their phone through the window. But needed to hear what supervillain had to say. What were they planing?
Villain had got a text, with the phone on loudspeaker they could take a look. It was pictured on hero, first at home and then at their work. “You and [hero] live in two different worlds, [villains real name]. They don’t need to hide from anyone.” Supervillains voice clear as glass, but villain still didn’t say a thing. Just saw hero at a table in a bright light, the others didn't matter to villain. “Do what I asked you to do and your darling will be fine. Don’t delay or tell [hero].”
After the call was ended villain throw away everything on their desk. Machines, papers, and even the phone. They screamed and felt tears behind their eyes. Deep breathing made them calm down a little before they took their own phone, the touchscreen had a crack. But it didn’t matter, it still worked.
Hero had lunch with a few young heroes/students and a few they knew well. They had gone through what hero would teach for the day. A few of the young at the table would be there, “[hero]” a young hero started glimpsed at them. “Is there a reason to quit being a hero?” Hero would have asked the same something similar once, “to tell the truth. There is very long hours and often very painful. You really have to think through if it’s worth it.”
One of the heroes they knew best laughed, “do you regret these years?” Hero shook their head, didn’t regret a thing. “No, I feel bad for the bad guys who are left in your hands.” Hero earned a kick on the leg, answered with pushing their elbow to their friend’s side. A phone rang hero’s phone. “Who’s ‘darling’?”
Here it would come, so hero escaped the table faster then ever before. “Hey” hero answered, “what’s up?”
“Nothing much just needed to hear your voice.” Villain said, it sounded like there was a problem. “And I might need a hero.” Hero smiled and laughed soft, “I could ask someone I know.”
“Newsflash, I’m not a hero anymore.”
“I miss you,” Villain confessed and they usually didn’t confess something that lightly.
Hero gestured to the others to stop observing. “I do too, but I can’t go early on the first day.” Villain sighed, “is the world on fire?” There was a problem, but how big? “Do I need to rush?”
“No, I have a bad day. Could you come after work?”
Hero thought about it, “I… I work late, and going to need a shower, sleep… No sleep can wait, I have work to do tonight. I really wish I could though.” They sighed and knelt down, “do you know what. I need your help as well.”
“With what?” Villain would do everything for them, they really wanted to believe that. So hero could trust them with this, “theory until tomorrow. At least half of that day and I need to… The list becomes longer and longer.” Get used to a new job, theory and more training then they were used to. “We could meet up, you could tell me about your day and I would need the help.”
“Buy some food with you and come home to me. You know the way?”
Hero knew, had known for a long time. “Yeah, do you know what you want to eat?” Villain didn’t answer right away, “no. I text you, see you tonight.” Hero smiled when they walked back to the table, had already forgotten hell that had broken loose there.
“You haven’t mentioned any romance in your life.” The one they knew best said, and the students did chit chat about it, but didn’t ask the questions hero wasn’t ready to answer anytime soon. “Is it someone I know?”
Hero rose up and walked away. Should have said something, but just felt sweat on their back and forehead. They knew the word would go around and somehow it would affect them and villain.
At the end of their day, it had caught up to them. Their commander and the only one who had been so close to a parent they could have been, “how was your first day on your new job?”
“There are some things I have to get used to.” Hero walked by them and they joined their walk, quiet. Hero had gotten a text from villain, pizza was what they wished. Hero knew exactly were to order the pizza from.
“Hero, can I talk to you a moment?” Their commander said and hero stopped so sudden that hiding something was very hard, “isn’t it a good time?”
Hero nodded, “I was on my way somewhere actually.” But they knew what this was about and that wasn’t going to wait. So hero just did as they were told and sat down in front of their commander, “so you have heard?” Their commander just nodded, “what are they saying about it?”
“There are people who are worried that you were forced to quit,” they said and hero swore quiet. “I just want to check if you really wanted to quit.”
“No one forced me to do anything. I signed off on my own will.” Hero didn’t want them to think that villain has forced them to anything if something hero forced villain does make a decision. Which they didn’t regret, “there is nothing to be worried about.”
But their commander looked kind of worried anyway, “this person must have been in your life quite a long time or they suddenly become one. Do they think it’s dangerous to be a hero?”
Hero tried to be calm and not reveal anything suspicious, “the risk of dying is pretty high so yeah. Not to talk about the long hours.” Their commander smiled soft and said, “you choose love before your dream job?”
“This job I have now could be fun when I get used to it. But it’s easy to be nostalgic.” Their commander only nodded, “you know I talking when I feel for it. Right now everything is so new and I want to give it a chance.”
“What is the name of this person?” That question was very good, hero hadn’t even thought of that. “[villains real first name], I was going to meet them.”
“Go, be careful. You got my number if something happens.” Hero hugged them and hurried away, they had managed to hide the truth with the actual truth. They couldn’t really believe it themselves when they called the pizza place, who still had opened.
