i've been a vegetarian a v long time and i am perfectly healthy but i'm absolutely aware of the fact that many many people cannot maintain a veg lifestyle. i've had friends that desperately wanted to be vegan/veg but found it took too much of a toll on them+even i myself found that veganism was obscenely difficult/pricey and gave it up within a few months. some people just can't/shouldn't do vegetarianism or veganism, it's a really simple fact and to act like it isn't so is pure bullfuckery ffs.

absolutely true! i have a friend who can't digest meat proteins and has to be vegetarian and she spends like seventy bucks a week on food. it's ridiculous

and if you have health issues like you just can't do it, if you don't have the money you can't do it, if you don't have the time you can't do it

I thought Malfoy (Sr) was going to use the killing curse on Dobby? That was always my assumption~

But like, I mean, it looks like he's looking at Harry when he starts saying "Avada..." and Dobby is like "You shall not harm Harry Potter!" so like, if Lucius Malfoy was just aiming for Dobby, I'm not entirely sure Dobby would defend himself? He was JUST freed and had a lifetime of servitude and of being silent and reticent and of accepting abuse in all forms without protest, which is a mindset that would be difficult to break and, for him alone, just after being freed, it seems a tiny bit far-fetched that Dobby would raise a hand against Lucius JUST to protect himself.

But to protect Harry? Whom he clearly admires and owes a debt of gratitude for freeing him from the Malfoys? He would raise a hand to protect him.

But I mean, even if that's the case, that Lucius was attacking Dobby, he's still doing it right in front of a 12-year-old kid in his school ten feet away from the headmaster's office. And Harry considered Dobby a friend by that point so it would have been hella traumatizing. So even if it was just a case of killing a house elf, which, sadly, happens all the time in the Wizarding World, he still was gonna do it in front of a child (not to mention Harry was basically still the Golden Child whom everyone in the Wizarding World loved because Voldemort wasn't back at this point yet) so he still would have been in a lot of trouble, I think???

I'm just wondering what his idea for what was gonna happen next was, if he had succeeded.
