Zoey and mira gets together first of course. How could they not? They love each other dearly, and would often stay up late whispering little secrets to each other. Little glances and lingering touch’s marked day by day the progression of their relationship.
Zoey and Mira fall for Rumi almost at the same time. How can they not? Shes so sweet and endearing, always focusing on how to help them improve, be more comfortable, feel better. They agree that at the bathhouse they’ll confess.
The first time, they think nothing of it. Rumi was probably just nervous, after all. She even had a separate changing room, (a fact Mira and Zoey lamented). So they resolve to hold out until shes comfortable enough. So they wait a few weeks and ask her again.
Once again, Rumi refuses.
They ask again and again over the year leading up to the idol awards, the one that would change how she saw them, and how they saw her. Every single time she’d refuse. Zoey was beginning to question if Rumi felt the same way. Mira…
She heard it. The day when they had left Celine’s office, Mira had held back for a moment longer, listening through the door while Zoey moped. She didn’t hear it. Mira did.
“Nothing can change until your patterns are gone, Rumi.”
It rooted Mira in place when she heard those words, unmistakably from Celine. It wasn’t until Zoey grabbed her hand that Mira realized she had been frozen.
Later, Mira sits Zoey down. She says what she overheard. She stops Zoey before she can talk, and explains what she thinks has happened. Rumi made a deal when she was younger, and her only hope to get out of it was to deal the Honmoon before she was taken.
They agree not to antagonize Rumi about it, hoping against hope that she’ll tell them.
The Saja boys appear. Mira and Zoey both notice how Rumi pulls away, the faint sound of purring coming from her room some nights. Finally, they decide to peak from the floor above, leaning out the window. They just barely see a purple blur as it rode a blue tiger (Zoey freaked out a little about that) away from the building.
They see Rumi talking with Jinu, hear her plan to free them both of the patterns. Mira is angry, Zoey is sad. Rumi could have asked them for help, but instead ran to someone else who made a deal with Gwi-ma.
Mira and Zoey decide to force Rumi to tell them the truth.
They get back right as Rumi does, climbing over the balcony quietly as she quietly speaks to the Tiger. Rumi doesnt hear them behind her until she slips off her hoodie, reaching for the pajamas she had laid out on her bed.
Mira and Zoey are staring. Mira looks angry, but Zoey almost looks… starstruck?
Rumi doesnt get a chance to process that as Mira tackles her, faster then she can react. It stuns Rumi long enough for Mira to throw her onto the bed, glaring at the girl who was feeling more terrified then she had in her whole life.
Zoey chastises Mira about her aggressive approach, sitting down on the bed. (Shes doing her best to ignore the tiger. Shes failing).
Rumi is hesitant, looking ready to bolt, before Mira speaks in that too-blunt-but-direct-way.
“We’ve known for almost six months you had patterns.”
Rumi is shocked of course. How on earth could they possibly know? Mira doesn’t bother explaining, instead stepping forwards until she climbs onto the bed.
Rumi is watching in fear, not noticing Zoey behind her now. She freezes when she backs up into her and feels the maknae’s arms wrap around her.
Mira sits on her ankles, and asks (showing surprising restraint) what deal Rumi made.
Rumi looks more confused than before.
Trying again, Mira asks what deal Rumi made to get the patterns.
Rumi shakes her head, muttering something. Zoey freezes, looking at Mira in surprise. Mira asks Rumi to repeat herself.
“I didn’t. My father was a demon.”
Mira looks at Zoey, realization dawning at the implications. Slowly, Mira crawls towards Rumi, who watches her warily, before letting out an “oomph!” as Mira tackles her in a hug. (Zoey gets a little squished).
Mira says that she didn’t have to hide from her and Zoey, that she could have trusted them. Rumi isn’t sure who started it, but eventually all three girls are crying softly in Rumi’s bed. (A tiger and bird watch, bored).
The idol awards arrive, but this time when Rumi stumbles off stage she isnt met with weapons drawn and pointing at her. Shes met with tears and hugs and kisses being peppered across her face.
They face Gwi-ma together, a song of all the pains of lies, secrets, and promises broken weaving through the air.
Jinu dies so Rumi can live.
Mira three weeks after the idol awards. Celine is sitting shell-shocked as Rumi explains that Mira and Zoey knew before the reveal. Mira and Zoey are trying (and failing) not to laugh.
Celine takes another week before she can bring herself to touch Rumi again.
It’s six weeks after the Idol awards. After truths that were already known to Huntrix were shown to the world, and after those truths were embraced, and told they weren’t a disgrace.
Zoey and Mira set up an elaborate trap. Handmade signs, her favorite candy’s and snacks, and a tiger and bird with towels. Rumi is shocked to be asked to the bathhouse in such a manner.
They sit in the water, relaxing as the heat and steam curl into their very bones. They have a good crying session, before Zoey and Mira share a look.
They slowly creep over until their right next to Rumi.
They tell her shes beautiful. That shes kind. That’s shes smart. That shes amazing. That she deserves love. That they love her. They want to know if she loves them.
Rumi is confused but says yes.
Mira groans, and clarifies. They are in love with her. Romantically. Both of them. Zoey quickly agrees when she realizes the misunderstanding.
Rumi has to take a moment before she quietly whispers she feels the same.
Mira and Zoey are ecstatic. It’s not until a week later that Zoey idly asks when Rumi fell for them.
Rumi fell in love that first month they’d met. How could she not? Mira was rough, but she cares. She remembered the little things about Rumi, the way she likes her rameyon cooked, how much spice she can handle (not a lot)… how much she loves hugs. Zoey was energetic, in the best ways. She loved things loudly, and without fear of judgment that she had faced before.
Rumi loves Mira and Zoey.
Zoey loves Rumi and Mira.
Mira loves Zoey and Rumi.
And they wouldn’t change a single thing.
Ok this got like way away from me I don’t even know what this is supposed to be. Thanks for reading lol
