Young Justice 4x18 - Beyond the Grip of the Gods!
Here to make the one million dollar question: what would Highfather and Highmother think about them? I mean, they may not be his biological parents, but they DID raise him as their own and that fact alone makes them his parents: I remind you of that scene where Highmother comforts her distressed son (I do think they truly love him; Highfather just may express his love in other ways)
They see their socially awkward, but very beloved, son slowly opening himself and forming more bonds, but also see him very much slowly falling in love, and with a human. They see it slowly build, how he now smiles and laughs so freely and without a care, they see him truly happy and with one that truly see's their son for what he is and not as a monster. They also see him interact with this very tiny and fragile child and they just go "awww"
Also, I imagine that since they live for sooooo long, they take one partner for the rest of their lives and they take courting VERY seriously; and, since they're are more or less immortal (at least, from human perspective), children a very very very rare blessing among their kin. Do you think they could have doubts, not because of Raquel as a person, but because she is human?
Also, yes, the team having the collective agreement that Orion is hot asf is a must. Him and Conner: bros. Good thing that he's already taken, cause Dick has been shown to have a thing for redhead's
The team giving him the shovel talk is also a must...
I totally agree!!! I think Highfather and Highmother are very loving parents to Orion, who embrace all of his social awkwardness!
I think that they would love Rocket! They wouod respect just how brave and strong she is and think that she leadership skills worthy of a future queen.
I think they would adore Amistad too! They wouldn't have the preconceived prejudices on earth due to his autism, plus they had plenty of similar experiences raising Orion! And he's just too adorable!
But yeah I think your right. They would adore Rocket and Amistad, because if Orion loves them they will too! However they would worry that Orion would be heartbroken at losing a mortal wife and child so they might warn him if he is certain of his feelings. They vowed to preoct him from Darkseid, they will protect him from anything. But they would still support Orion's decision and welcome them with open arms!
Lol hadn't even thought about Dick's fondness for redheads!! 😂 And yeah the team will destroy anyone who hurts one of their own even a god!!
THEM <3
We see so little of Avia in the Pact that there really isn't much we can infer about her outside her relationship with Izaya. Even saying that she likes music is a stretch since even that is based on her desire to hear Izaya's voice when not raised in a battle-cry. Maybe that she loves flying because of the flight boots she wears that we don't see anyone else wearing on New Genesis.
The point being, I don't think she's ever even mentioned outside of The Pact in Kirby's Fourth World, and her appearances outside of that- to my knowledge (admittedly limited given there's some later Fourth World material I have not read) - are Scott naming his daughter "Avia" in Kingdom Come and the YJ animated take on the New Gods where she isn't developed in any great depth either.
While I think there's potential to be developed or teased out here, in Avia herself and how she contrasts with Tigra and Scott (and possibly in Auralie as well) it doesn't come out to much because there's so little to work with when it comes to Avia herself. Her only real purpose is to serve as a means of escalating the conflict between New Genesis and Apokalips- even Auralie, who has no lines, gets more development (and she doesn't get much either).
I don't have a good ending for this post, I'm just thinking about Avia, and the fact that her absence affects the world more than her presence- except that her presence is so slight her absence is only felt in how Izaya reacts. While the Fourth World is a masterpiece in many ways, this is one of those things about it that feels lackluster and underthought and I would love to see developed more in the hands of a skilled, nuanced writer.
