Another Shani Dev drawing. I'm calling this one "The Veil," as it represents the revealing of the Universe's secrets.
My design of Lord Shani is intentionally androgynous, with burn marks covering his skin and mirror irises that reflect the individual. Shani is a deeply misunderstood Hindu deity and it is my interpretation in my workings with him that one should only fear his gaze if one fears introspection, because that is what worship of him offers. He is not for the faint of heart, for one must be willing to see one's ugliness, but also be willing to forgive oneself. His judgment is equally balanced with love and the obstacles he places move one towards becoming a better version of themselves.
