📚 - Histoire du djihad by Olivier Hanne
I’ve had a slight nervous breakdown this week, so I’ve decided to visit my parents for a few days. It took me a long while to convince myself that it was alright to take some time away and that I deserve a break, but I’m here now and I already feel much better!
I’ve finished my midterm report so all I have left to do is organise my next thesis committee meeting. I suppose while I wait I can already get started on preparing the presentation, but I can worry about that when I go back to London next week. I did a lot of flow cytometry this week, doing final checks on the phenotype of my sorted CD8+ T cells. I don’t understand hooooow I managed to end up with CD4s when I sorted for CD8s, but I’m still doing some reading to try and figure that out.
On another very positive note, I joined the Letters to a Pre-Scientist programme a few weeks ago, which matches you with a middle school child in the US with an interest in science, and I have finally been assigned a pen pal!! I should be getting my first letter soon, and I’m very excited to start communicating with him and learning about his interests in STEM.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Take some time to see the people you love, and make sure you give yourself a moment to relax.
