As many of us already know, we’ve recently had a number of families who’ve lost a child within the craniofacial community. This is heartbreaking and unfathomable. Many of us are even heartbroken. I’ve written a variety of families who’ve also lost a child and asked them if they’d be willing to write an open letter to these bereaved families in support and of relation. I’ve received some incredibly welcoming responses.
Although no words can really help to ease the loss these families bear, it’s important that they know that they are very close in our every thought and prayer. The purpose of this movement is to offer comfort and support - to help them through their grief and sadness.
Furthermore, we’ve thought to expand this idea by inviting all open letters of support to be shared on this page. So far, there are two recently bereaved families on board with the idea. While many of us know who some of these families are - their information will be kept private until they decide otherwise.
We are purchasing custom keepsake memorial musical boxes in hopes to fill them with many open letters for these grieving families of Craniofacial Angels. A sentimental gift for them to physically hold near and dear to their hearts from all of us. We hope to give all bereaved families the love and support they so desperately need at this challenging time.
If you would like to participate in writing an open letter, please post your open letter on our FB Group below. These letters will also be printed and placed in individual keepsake memorial boxes prior to delivery for these families.
We hope to expand this movement in collecting many more letters for all Bereaved Families of Craniofacial Angels.
