Harry Potter is a young wizard who inherited from his mother the ability to see the red thread that connects destined people to each other. However, he has never been connected to anyone and has never worried about it.

However, everything changes on Christmas morning when Harry wakes up with a red thread wrapped around his pinky. What he didn't expect was that his destiny would be intertwined with none other than his enemy, Draco Malfoy.

We Need to Talk (Completed!), written for @hp-flowers​

Word Count: 3K Content Warning: Suicidal ideation, self-harm Relationship: Future Harry/Draco, Harry/Ginny (on the brink of breaking up)

Summary: Harry has been asking about Draco all summer, Draco has been avoiding him, and Ginny can barely track down her boyfriend anymore. What will happen when Neville gives Harry the balm needed for him to smooth over the past and start a new beginning with Draco?

Excerpt:

For perhaps the hundredth time that summer, Harry asked what Draco was up to.

"I told him to harvest rue flowers," Neville answered, wiping sweat from his eyes as he cast a Scouring Charm at the bloodstained greenhouse door.

"That's about the only thing he can do for now without his wand."

Harry squinted at Draco's crouched figure at the far end of the garden. Draco had joined the Hogwarts Castle Restoration Project, fresh from his trial, wandless and clad in threadbare clothes he would have ridiculed Ron for wearing years ago. Bouncing from task group to task group, Draco couldn't find anyone who would accept his help except, surprisingly, Neville.

"He still doesn't have a wand?" Harry asked. He also threw a Scouring Charm at the door, the blood proving difficult to wipe clean.

His lack of a wand puzzled Harry. Draco hadn't been banned from using magic, much to the dismay of what seemed to be half the Wizarding population writing to the Daily Prophet. Even though Harry hadn't given back his wand, Draco could very well buy a new one, if not from Ollivander, then any other wandmaker in Europe.

Neville looked askance at the wand Harry held. "Is there a reason why you've been asking about Malfoy? I don't think he's scheming anything. He's...different now."
