I see a lot of fighting between shippers or OCs... Why ? Everyone is free To love his own ship :) For me it's hiccstrid but i respect perfectly those who prefer other couples :) So stop fighting and just kiff your passion and love what you want ❤

i honestly, truly, wholeheartedly hope that the Snoggletog short will be the chance for reunion for the rest of the riders with their dragons. I love the idea of hearing the hiccstrid children talk and all, but give me Snotlout bursting to tears when he sees Hookfang again, give me the twins freaking immediately disappearing with Balch to blow stuff up, give me Fishlegs reuniting with not one, but two of the dragons of his heart and crying the hardest of them all. Valka and Cloudjumper cuddling in a corner, everyone brought to tears of joy and somehow relief because they know that no one is dead, no one is hurt and everyone is safe and thriving. Also give me the gang’s dragons not wanting to leave agai-

Just Saw Homecoming!!

alright, 20 minutes of fanservice I could get behind, however I do have some thoughts and reservations.

Namely, as much as I liked it and despite how much joy it brought me I do not consider it as honest canon. It does not quite capture the realistic ending of the final movie and what Dean said about Hiccup and Toothless never seeing one another again after the ending of the third film. That’s true canon to me. Homecoming was great as an isolated installment of fan service; a small gift.

The premise was adorable and the character development was easy enough to flow and allowed for an enjoyable watch without evoking an overly emotional response ( as I would be so inclined to)

The kids are the cutest and remind me of my neice and nephew in the simplest of ways for being cute af kids, and who doesn’t love some cute kids???!

Zephyr’s hilarious. 20 min of decent characterization. Her brother on the other hand.... concerned me 😂 the hitting his head all the time made me worried for two reasons: 1- I cringed every time he hit his head on something because I have an overbearing motherly tendancy and it gave me second-hand anxiety

2- He was unlike either of his parents, which is realistically fair because kids are not carbon copies of their parents, but for this 20 minute blip in the httyd timeline it would have been nice to see something more akin to either Hiccup or Astrid.

INTERMISSION: Man, I love these two.

RESUME:

Toothless the artist made a comback. The Nightlights are essentially giant kitten/puppyy hybrids, I love them. More comic releif.

Fishlegs is just a happy boi.

Hiccup’s beard is fab and we are all here for it. Atleast something in my life is working well.

Seriously I did like the animation, it reminded me, for some reason, of animation from the mid 200’s but way more advanced. The details were great and it was all around well done 👍

Most importantly- as I had to save it for the end, WHERE IS VALKA?

WHERE IS SHE? WHY WAS THIS DONE? THIS IS MAINLY WHY I REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AS CANON AS FOR SIMPLICITIES SAKE THEY DID NOT INCLUDE KEY POINTS AND CHARACTERS. MY MAIN GREIVANCE IS THIS.

I am happy but dissatisfied. Nonetheless, I appreciate the work put in to it 💓
