Hey all, I have a bit of a special post for today (and another one to follow soon). The artwork you see above is not actually for my own personal worldbuilding project, but is instead the concept sketch I made for a contest held by Callum Diggle to have a creature design featured in his awesome comic, Humanity Lost.
The prompt was to design a wild creature which would be seen aboard a space station, specifically in a market scene. I made this creature here with ambush predators in mind, drawing inspiration from hobbit worms and razor-shelled bivalves. In my mind it's native to the Europa-like homeworld of the Pekt, one of the numerous sophont aliens present in Humanity Lost.
This design is gonna be featured on one of the pages in volume 2 of Humanity Lost, which is going to come out very soon! I'm so grateful to have been able to participate in this contest, and especially win it!
Here's how it looks in the actual comic btw (middle)
Your Favourite Speculative Project?
Birrin Project (by Alex Ries)
Birgworld (by Iguanodont)
The Teeming Universe (by Christian Cline)
Runaway to the Stars (by Jay Eaton)
Dinosauroids (by C.M. Kösemen)
Serina (by Dylan Bajda)
Amphiterra Project (by Roxy Valdez)
On Beyond Holocene (by Zhejiangopterus)
Humanity Lost (by C.S. Diggle)
Hamster's Paradise (by Tribbetherium)
If literally anyone is wondering where I've been, it's because I'm procrastinating and have fallen into the rabbit hole of speculative biology. Honorable mentions are Arrival, All Tomorrows, Snaiad, Nijin-Konai, and Rust and Humus!
Is their currently any entries for any of these species or groups? Halovians, Kolaxans, Birrin, Tandrax, Foxian, Borisin, Yarkeen, Interastral Peace Corporation, Grineer, and kaimereans.
GRINEER - [DATA NOT FOUND]
(First time I tried a species profile on here that isn't just an Omnitrix thing.
Side note, Honkai Star Rail's world building was really hard to figure out, especially when everyone was more focused on the hot anime twinks and ladies. So if there are inaccuracies here to the lore of HSR... it's an AU, no there arent.)
watching humanity lost and if I had a nickel for every time the dm of a horror oneshot where players played fictional versions of themselves had their character suspended from cables I'd have two nickels
please give me more hero's that look like villains, I love them. shout out to all death knights and all of humanity lost.
